Hello, Ballers!
Happy November! I think it is safe to say we are officially in the "holiday season," as we just had Halloween, and now we are coming up on Thanksgiving. Soon enough, Christmas will already be here. Now that I have you thinking about the upcoming holiday breaks, let's get on with the email!

This email will include the following:
  • District Updates
    • District Convention 2021 Attendance Interest Form
    • Key Club Week 2020
  • Division Updates
    • October DWF: Painting Pots for PTP (UPDATE)
    • November DWS: Thanksgiving Service
  • Upcoming Events
    • November DWF: Cooking Class
    • November DWS: Cranes for Cancer
    • November DCM: New Member Orientation

  • District Updates
    • District Convention 2021 Attendance Interest Form
CNH is in the process of gathering data on how many members would still like to attend DCON 2021 during the pandemic. Please release this interest form to the rest of your members so they can get an estimate. The link to the form can be found here or at tinyurl.com/DCONInterestAttendance. Please have this form filled out by November 15th @ 11:59 PM
    • Key Club Week 2020
KeyClubWeek2020-1.png
Participate along with the rest of Key Club International from November 2nd-6th. Go to keyclub.org/keyclubweek to find more resources and information on each day. I have also attached the day to day graphics below, so be sure to post them on your club socials each day! Make sure to send the graphics to your members and encourage them to participate. Use the hashtag #keyclubweek and tag our International Trustee @missflocal.

  • Division Updates
    • October DWF: Painting Pots for PTP (UPDATE)
The form for ordering pots has officially been closed! Before closing, we were able to get 40 orders in, so thank you to everyone who ordered! Everyone should get their supplies by November 7th and Fundraising Coordinators Aruushi & Yuna will be contacting you about the exact location & time. For everyone, please make sure to wear a mask and social distance when picking up your supplies! For those that selected yes on the form, the live painting event will be held at a later date/time that works for everyone.
    •  November DWS: Thanksgiving Service
The month of November encompasses a very important holiday, Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving is the time to express gratitude to those around us, including our teachers, parents, friends, and neighbors. For this month’s Division Wide Service Event, we will be creating some Thanksgiving cards for people who have supported us throughout our life to thank them for everything they have done for us! This is an asynchronous service event, so feel free to participate in this event on your own/do it with your club, and submit your hours through this form or at bit.ly/thankservice!

Question of the Day: Would you rather have a cob of corn for a nose or pumpkins for ears? (Bonus question: What Simpsons character did I use as the colorway as this email? Hint: only note the first five colors)

  • Upcoming Events
    • November DWF: Cooking Class
Get ready for the most exciting Division Wide Fundraiser yet! Culinary artist Heidi Cotler from Benicia Kiwanis will be hosting a cooking class teaching attendees how to make the following dishes:
  • Entré: Baked chicken with gravy and Autumn roasted vegetables
  • Dessert: Pumpkin pudding cake
Attendees will be responsible for gathering the ingredients themselves, while Heidi will be guiding you on how to make the aforementioned dishes! We ask that you donate $20 to our division GoFundMe at charity.gofundme.com/division-8, but note that this is an optional donation, so please don't let this discourage you from attending! Everyone is welcome to come and follow along. Who knows? Maybe you could serve that for tonight's dinner! In addition, this event will be joint with Division 8 Kiwanis, so feel free to come in order to meet/talk with our adult leaders! Below are the logistics for the event:
  • WHEN: November 14th, 4-5:30 PM
  • WHERE: Zoom | A sign-up and graphic will be posted soon, so please stay tuned on our socials for more information!
    • November DWS: Cranes for Cancer
Traditionally, it is believed that folding 1,000 origami cranes will bring good luck and a wish will be granted, such as long life or recovery from illness. As a result, it has become popular to fold 1,000 cranes when someone is diagnosed with cancer. Cranes for Cancer's mission is to provide boxes of 1,000 cranes to cancer patients. The 1000 cranes bring hope and uplift spirits. For this month’s live DWS, we will be creating origami cranes and mailing them to cheer people up and to wish them good health! Below are the basic logistics of our event:
  • WHEN: November 15th, 3-4 PM
  • WHERE: Zoom | Sign up using this link
    • November DCM: New Member Orientation
Membership recruitment is never over, but for the new members of your club, I'm sure they don't know much of what Key Club is. This DCM is aimed towards filling in any gaps in their knowledge! It will give a brief overview of what we do, our impact, and why they should join/stay! This event will be hosted by the current DLT and will include topics such as:
  • Member Recognition Program
    • Workshops on how to earn points on MRP
  • Leadership positions (club to international)
  • Preferred charities
  • Common terminology
  • And much more!
This event will take place on November 21st & 22nd, time TBA (based on how much interest is garnered, a second date is still up in the air). A graphic, as well as more information such as a sign-up, will be released soon, so be on the lookout in our socials and make sure to relay this information to the rest of your clubs!

Sorry for not putting much graphics for this email update! I find the lack of visuals/color to be quite unsettling as well. Please note the switched events in this month's DWF and DCM, instead of holding a cooking class, I decided to make the New Member Orientation our DCM because I found it to be a lot more inclusive than the former! Anyway, I will keep the closing short as I have to get back to writing a paper for my seminar class. See you next time!

Don't forget your monthly submissions!
