Hello, Ballers! 
August is fast approaching! That means school is as well ಠ╭╮ಠ Whether you are going to be 100% virtual or hybrid learning, as mentioned in my last email, please continuing discussing with your club board as to how you want to approach this upcoming school year. It will definitely be something that we're not accustomed to, that's for sure!

This email will include the following:

Interested in getting more involved in Key Club? Want to be part of a District Team? Possibly improve your editing/graphic skills? Don't miss the opportunity to apply for the 2020-2021 District Visual Media Team. Applications are out now and can be found below.

What is the District Visual Media Team?

  • Produce Videos/Graphics for the District

    • As a committee, we will be taking part in creating graphics, editing photos, and editing videos to be distributed across the CNH District. 

  • Improve in Video/Graphic Skills

    • Members will provide feedback to help improve each other's skills in their own field by providing feedback.

  • Create Graphical Assets

    • Besides marketing materials and video production, the DVMT will also be creating “eye candies” that will be archived on the CNH Cyberkey for public use. This could range from Bee Graphics to Event Overlays.

 

If appointed, you will be able to learn more about graphic design, video production, photography, have access to team restricted resources, and meet other like-minded individuals.


Submission Process

Email CNH DVME Austin Nguyen (cnhkc...@gmail.com) and CC mentor Mr. Chang (joshua...@gmail.com) with the following information and supplements: 

  • Subject Line

  • Application and Prompts

      • Must be .pdf format

  • Media Samples

    • Please upload all media samples to a google drive folder.

      • Folder Name

        • DVMT_YourName

        • ex: DVMT_DerekMa_Media2

        • Must be .mp4 .mov .jpg or .png format

In addition, ALL applicants must also complete this form in order to be eligible to apply for the District Visual Media Team.

Submission Deadline

All applications are due by Friday, August 14th at 6:00 PM PST - No exceptions!

Our August DCM was planned by your three EAs, Miah, Nayfa, and Marianne! We will be playing "Guess Who" with baby pics! Submit your adorable baby pictures HERE (it can be any photo from when you were younger) and get ready to have fun! The DCM will be held on: 
    • August DWS: Back to School Trivia

Planned by our Service Projects Coordinator, Sophia Li, This is a fun and interactive way to get to know more people and earn service hours at the same time. The minimum donation needed to participate is $2, but feel free to donate more and all proceeds will go to Jumpstart. Either Venmo Division 8 LTG Aimee @aimeehan or Paypal IP Division 8 LTG Katie Han @ktha...@gmail.com. The trivia will include topics on school subjects but don’t worry, you won’t have to study for this! Also, the top three finishers will earn a prize. The following are the logistics for the event: 
  • WHEN: August 15 @ 7:00 PM
  • WHERE: Zoom | Sign up HERE in order to get the link and password!
Prizes you can earn if you place! 
  • 1st Place: Shirt, Reasonable Dare/Request for our Division 8 LTG Aimee Han, and three stickers of your choice
  • 2nd Place: Lei and two stickers of your choice
  • 3rd Place: Flag and one sticker of your choice
    • Division 8 Escape Room [FIRST DIVISION-WIDE FUNDRAISER!]
The graphic has not been created yet but I wanted to introduce our first division-wide fundraiser! Planned by our two fundraising coordinators, Aruushi and Yuna, they will be holding an escape room (｡◕‿◕｡) Not all the details have been finalized, however, the following are the basic logistics for the event:
  • WHEN: Saturday, August 22nd from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, and Sunday, August 23rd from 3:00 to 4:00 PM
  • WHERE: Zoom | You will get the link once you have signed up (still yet to be made)
As more details are finalized, I will let you all know as soon as possible!

Question of the Day: As of now, what is your favorite song? I need song suggestions :D

Friendly reminder that our t-shirt design contest ends this Saturday, August 1st @ 11:59 PM! Voting will take place and the winner will get a free spirit pack! Submission guidelines are in the graphic above. 
    • Region 9 Olympics 2020

Although registration for Region 9 Olympics as closed, those who are attending, please anticipate the date! There are six days remaining until the event. In addition, we are still looking for chaperones so please make sure to ask advisors if they are willing to chaperone!

Although sign-ups have closed, it is not too late to get an overlay! Follow the directions in the overlay below to get one as well.

Thank you to everyone that tuned in this week! As school fast approaches, whether you are going virtual or hybrid, make sure you are transitioning your mindset to prepare it for learning. (For those of you who need it, turn your hot girl summer into a smart girl semester, cringey, but it's needed). In addition, I am especially looking forward to your answers to the hidden question, so be sure to answer it. Until next time, guys! ~(˘▾˘~)
