Hello, Ballers!
I hope you all had a restful Thanksgiving Break and ate lots of good food. Unfortunately, we're hit with the reality that school starts tomorrow. However, if you think about it, there are only three more weeks until winter break!

This email will include the following:
  • District Updates
    • CNH MR E-Portfolio Tutorial
    • What's Poppin' - Meet the District Board S5E2
  • Division Updates
    • November DCM: New Member Orientation (RECAP)
    • November DWS: Thanksgiving Service
    • Candidate Training Conference 2020
  • Upcoming Events
    • December DCM: Secret Santa
    • December DWF: Holiday Packs
    • December DWS: Christmas Trivia

  • District Updates
    • CNH MR E-Portfolio Tutorial
It's never too late to apply for contests! If you haven't started and plan to go for awards, this is your sign to start! However, most CNH contests require an e-portfolio. Not sure what that is? Use this video tutorial headed by MR Chair Antonio Quesada to help you. In addition, attached at the bottom of this email is a manual that guides you through the steps of an e-portfolio as well. Both of these resources can be found on the CyberKey under the 'Recognition' tab. Happy applying!
    • What's Poppin' - Meet the District Board S5E2
Check out the most recent broadcast of the What's Poppin - Meet the District Board! It was a long process to put together so all of the CNH District Board, as well as DVME Austin, would greatly appreciate it if you gave it a look! You'll get a chance to meet the three District Executives, the District Leadership Team, and all the Lieutenant Governors! You can find it here on Youtube.

  • Division Updates
    • November DCM: New Member Orientation (RECAP)
Last week, we held our November DCM's New Member Orientation. Thank you for all 32 wonderful attendees! Better yet, I did not recognize most of the names meaning they were all new members! I hope you all learned plenty of new things to ease your transition into Key Club.
If you need a recap of anything that was presented during the DCM, feel free to access this folder. It contains all the workshops that were presented during the DCM. In addition, the DCM was modeled similarly to a training conference (such as OTC or RTC) so we would greatly appreciate it if you filled out this feedback form
    • November DWS: Thanksgiving Service

A reminder that tomorrow at 11:59 PM is the last day to submit your hours for the November DWS! Even though Thanksgiving has passed, you can still make cards to show gratitude to those around you if you still want to get a few hours in. Remember to submit proof of your hours through this form to get accounted for.
    • Candidate Training Conference 2020

Are YOU interested in the role of Lieutenant Governor? Do you want to know more about the duties & responsibilities this position entails? Candidate Training Conference (CTC) is just for you! If you plan on running for Lieutenant Governor in January, attendance at CTC is highly recommended. In addition, no seniors are allowed to attend as CTC is only open to prospective LTG candidates. Basic logistics are as follows:
  • WHEN: Saturday, December 12th from 12 - 4:30 PM
  • WHERE: Zoom | Make sure to use this link to sign up by December 10th @ 6 PM! Read the description at the top of the form to register yourself using the District link as well!
Question of the Day: Would you rather give up all drinks except for water or give up eating anything that was cooked in an oven? (Food-related in light of the passing of Thanksgiving)

  • Upcoming Events
    • December DCM: Secret Santa
It is Division 8 tradition to host our December DCM at Vacaville Ice Sports where we do a White Elephant gift exchange and ice skate. However, due to the pandemic, we obviously can't do that! To keep the tradition and resemble the experience as close as possible, we will be doing a frugal (limit: $10-15) Secret Santa gift exchange instead of White Elephant. Please note, you do not have to participate in the gift exchange in order to attend the DCM.
Although I do not have the entirety of the DCM planned, a few of the confirmed activities we will be doing are: opening Secret Santa gifts, earning service hours by writing letters to Santa, and eating the snacks from our December DWF: Holiday Packs fundraiser (see below for more information), and other Christmas bonding activities! To get the word out as soon as possible (even though the activities aren't finalized), I wanted to release the sign-up form as soon as possible! See below for the basic logistics:
  • WHEN: Friday, December 18th from 5 - 6 PM
  • WHERE: Zoom | Make sure to sign up using this link! You have the option to opt-out of the Secret Santa gift exchange.
    • December DWF: Holiday Packs
Similar to our October DWF where we arranged mini pots with painting kits, we will be arranging bags full of holiday-themed treats in order to raise funds for PTP! This fundraiser is still in the midst of being planned by Benicia Key Club's Fundraising Committee (which still includes Fundraising Coordinators Aruushi & Yuna) but the packs will possibly include items such as Swiss Miss hot chocolate, candy canes, and much more! You can enjoy these snacks during the December DCM. Please be on the lookout on our socials for more information regarding ordering/payment.
    • December DWS: Christmas Trivia
With the holidays coming up soon, we have decided to hold a Christmas Trivia Night! We will be answering questions on Kahoot, enjoying each others’ company, and listening to Christmas music! Don’t miss out on this fun and inclusive night with Key Club members, so sign up and donate $2 to the Kiwanis Family House!
The Kiwanis Family House is the Governor's Project for the 2020-21 term. The institution that provides temporary housing to families with members being treated at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. As Key Clubbers, we can assist the Kiwanis Family House by offering financial (donating fiscal or material items), volunteering if you are local to the area, or designating them as your Amazon Smile!
Let's make it our goal to raise $50 for the Kiwanis Family House, as that is the cost to sponsor a room/family for a night!
If this is your first time participating in one of our trivia nights, you are exempt from paying the admission fee, but feel free to still donate it as all the funds raised will be going to a good cause! Basic logistics are below:
  • WHEN: Saturday, December 12th @ 7 PM
  • WHERE: Zoom | Make sure to sign up using this link

I heartbreakingly write this email on the last two days of Thanksgiving break, not having started any of my work. However, winter break is just on the horizon, so we all just have to hold on a bit longer! To get there, we do have a hectic month for December. From CTC, a DCM, a DWS, and a DWF, let's pull through all of it and finish strong. As a last reminder, please make sure to start on your contests if you plan on applying for one. That also brings me to my next talking point, to be on the lookout for Division Judging Committee applications! More on that later (^_<)~☆
