- January DWS: 21 Tasks for 2021
This serves as the last email reminder of our January DWS! For the rest of January, you have six activities you can perform for service hours. Please check out this
form or @
bit.ly/d8tasks2021 for more information and what these six activities may be, as it will also serve as the form you submit your hours to for confirmation. Make sure to send your hours in before
next week by 11:59 PM. - January/February DWS: Care Package Assembly
For the rest of January & into February, we will be accepting donations to contribute to our care package assembly. If you are interested in participating, please make sure to sign up! If there is not enough interest, we will have to, unfortunately, cancel the event :(
Once we have a good amount of donations, we will go ahead and assemble the care packages on a live call, while making a handwritten/decorated note as well as decorating the bag that all the items will be packaged in. Make sure to sign up
here or @

- Winter Training Conference (RECAP)
Thank you for all 25 wonderful attendees at our first-ever Winter Training Conference! I hope all attendees learned a lot about position responsibilities of officer positions, member engagement & recruitment, and of course, service & fundraising. Seeing as how it was our first time curating such an event, I could not be any less amazed at the attendance and passion that people showed at the event!
All the presentations that were shown at the event can be found in this folder, so feel free to access them any time! In addition, seeing as how this is another one of our training events, there is always room for improvement on how we can plan and organize such conferences. If you happened to attend, if you could fill out this feedback form (bit.ly/div8wtcfeedback), that would be great & we would really appreciate it! - January DCM: Region 9 Conclave 2021 (RECAP)
On Saturday, January 23rd, we held our first-ever Region Conclave. It was at this event, where we elected Miah Chao of Benicia Key Club as the Lieutenant Governor-Elect for the 2021-2022 term! (peep the email signature at the end ;D)
Please give her a warm welcome and a short congrats if you ever see her at any of our events. As EA and club treasurer, in addition to her unwavering passion & dedication to Key Club, I already know Miah is well-equipped with the skills to lead our Division to soaring heights for the next term! Below is a short introduction that I asked Miah to write in order to help you guys get to know her better:
Hello, Division 8 Ballers! My name is Miah Chao and I am incredibly honored to have been elected to serve as your next lieutenant governor! From playing Among Us games and holding impromptu karaoke sessions to completing thousands of service hours and fundraising for PTP, I am so excited to see what we will be able to accomplish together. Thank you for putting your faith in me and giving me all of the bright smiles, everlasting memories, and love that I could ever wish for. I appreciate every second that I get to spend with you and I can’t wait for us to continue our Key Club journey with each other!
Rolling into Service,
Miah Chao
P.S. Some fun facts about me so we can get to know each other: I have two crazy puppies named Choco & Totoro who never seem to run out of energy. In my free time, I like building keyboards, playing the piano, and watching K-Dramas/anime! I can’t wait to get to know you all throughout the term (≧▽≦)- Upcoming Events
- January DWS: Notes of Affirmation
As we allot time for the care package donations to accumulate, our live January DWS will be held this Saturday, January 30th from 2 - 3 PM (this date was originally set for the live assembly of care packages). Instead, we will be creating aesthetic notes of affirmation using a variety of platforms! This event will earn you an hour of service. Make sure to sign up for the event
here or @

- January DWF: Kiwanis Gift Basket Auction & Bid
Our second joint fundraiser with Kiwanis will be occurring next week, January 31st from 2 -3 PM. We will be auctioning off five-themed baskets in exchange for donations to PTP & MNT! If you would like to attend, please make sure to sign up
here. Please note, you do not have an obligation to bid for anything since baskets do get pricey! I recommend you take this as a learning experience so you can possibly simulate this with your club & own sponsoring Kiwanis club as an individual fundraiser.
Thank you to everyone that read to the end of this email. As we enter the final quarter of the term, I hope you all have been thinking of potential officer positions, scholarships, awards, etc. Let's give it all we got & finish this term strong! Until next time, guys!
