Hello, Ballers! 

Since we are in late August, I am assuming that you all have started school already, I personally have T__T Although we harbor the high possibility of spending this entire school year in quarantine, I hope this does not discourage you! Take the time to find things that help keep you sane. Personally, my friends and I FaceTime each other during our breaks, to emulate the feeling of eating together like we would in person. Hopefully, you can do the same if you're feeling lonely! At this point, I am just babbling so let's get on with the email! There is a lot, so be sure to read thoroughly!

• District Updates 
• Club/Division Website Contest Guidelines 

Does your club or division have a website, or want to create one? This is a chance to recognize your amazing skills! Register for the Club and/or Division Website by September 15th by 6:00 PM. Hardworking club and division editors are recognized for their work. Don't worry about completing every detail for your website, there are multiple judging dates, where they want to see growth in the website. Please refer to the CNH Contest Guidelines to find out what exactly you need to include on your website. Winners will be recognized at DCON 2021. 

• #JoinOurHive2020

For the rest of August and all throughout September, the CNH District wants to promote the benefits of bee-ing a Key Clubber. Take this opportunity to share your favorite Key Club moments with your home, school, and community! To participate, simply use #JoinOurHive2020 and #CNHKeyClub in your posts and you may be featured on CNH District's Instagram! Don't forget to request for an overlay by emailing your name, position, and reason why to cnhkc....@gmail.com by September 30. If you end up getting an overlay, please make sure to send it to @d8ballers on Instagram, we would love to post you on our story! To my clubs, this is a perfect recruitment tool that you can present to new members at your meetings!

• Fall Rally Postponement 

I mentioned this in my last email update but here is a more formal announcement! (also because I was not supposed to talk about the postponement yet but let's not mention that). The ensuing pandemic has caused a lot of in-person events to be canceled, so it was better to move the rally to a later date than keep it in mid-October to have it inevitably canceled. Regardless, we are still releasing spirit gear that you can wear to the Spring Rally! More details on that soon. 

• DCON 2020 Shirts - YES Campaign Fundraiser 

As many of you know, with the cancellation of DCON 2020, CNH was NOT able to distribute the shirts that were designed for this year. They have decided to give them to members with an exchange of a donation of $5. All of the proceeds raised from this District fundraiser will be donated to the YES Campaign to support their mission to provide flexible support for the most pressing, ongoing priorities of the Cal-Nev-Ha Children’s Fund. Please fill out this form by August 26th, 6:00 PM if you are interested in a DCON 2020 t-shirt. Further information regarding payment & delivery will be announced in the near future!

Question of the Day: How is virtual learning going for you? Personally, I enjoy it because of the amount of free time to relax/time to self-study a lot of my courses.

• Division 8 Pediatric Trauma Program GoFundMe

We're introducing a new and more accessible way to donate to PTP! Through GoFundMe, you can donate directly to Division 8's cause, contributing to our overall goal, and still have our donations accounted for. • August DWS: Back to School Trivia (UPDATE) 

You guys are the best! At our last DWS, planned by Service Projects Coordinator, Sophia Li, we were able to raise $50 for Jumpstart! Thank you to everyone that came & donated, this would not have been possible without you! The following individuals came & contributed to our cause:

• August DWF: Escape Room (UPDATE) 

This weekend, we held out first division fundraiser that was planned by our fundraising coordinators, Aruushi and Yuna! All proceeds raised went to PTP, to contribute to our overall goal of $3,500 raised as a division. In total, we raised $81 for PTP! It was a pretty lengthy list of attendees, so I will not be able to list all of the individuals that came this time. Regardless, a huge thank you to everyone that came, and especially to Aruushi and Yuna for planning it in the first place! I also just got word of the winners, so congratulations to the following individuals (Max's team) for winning first place!

• September DCM: RTC 2020

With less than a month until Region Training Conference occurs, just a heads-up that we will be allotted time to hold our September DCM there! The exact date/time for our DCM is listed below: 

• Sunday, September 20th @ 12:50 PM (during RTC)

Remember that this event is required for all officers and also counts as a Training Event on the Member Recognition Program. Why not attend? Sign-ups for the event will be released very soon, as we are currently wrapping up slight complications with that. 

• RTC 2020 Promotional Video 

In addition, a promotional video made by our very own EA, Miah Chao, has been made! Be sure to watch through it all as there is important information regarding dates, advisor ratio, etc. You can view it here on the Division Instagram! A huge thank you to Miah for creating such a cute video! 

• Past Division 8 Merch [ON SALE!]
  

Recently, I inherited boxes and boxes of past Division merch from the 2018-2019 Lieutenant Governor, Katrina Sacluti. The question I was faced with was, 'What do I do with all of this stuff?" So, I decided to make an ordering form for those interested! The form includes shirts all the way from the 2018-2019 term, lanyards, hoodies, and joint-division merch. The best part is, the merch is discounted up to 50% of its original value! You can find the form here, in which all proceeds made from this ongoing fundraiser (now until the end of the term) will be donated to PTP. Take advantage of this amazing opportunity!

• *NEW DIVISION RESOURCES* Key Club During Quarantine 

If you have not already done so, please fill out your club's required part on this document! It is meant to aid our division/swap ideas on how we as a division plan on approaching Key Club during the school year and in quarantine. A few schools have already put their ideas down, so please make sure to add yours soon by the desired date in the document. 

• *NEW DIVISION RESOURCES* Biggest Struggles 

There is a new addition in the Division 8 Resources known as "Biggest Struggles," where I ask presidents at our monthly meetings what their biggest struggle for the previous month was. The DLT and I will take the time to answer your question in order to address the problems your club is facing. You can access the folder here, and look through the responses. We hope this helps!

This is far into the future, but just a heads up that the EAs are currently planning Core Calls with their assigned clubs! They are drafting agendas that are geared towards addressing problems within the club, assistance during this time, etc.! Please be on a lookout for a date in September - November.

This was a pretty lengthy email, so thank you to everyone that read through! Also, did you notice the email overlay on the top? I made that myself hehe. This might not seem like a feat for anyone else but I treasure it because I severely lack graphic designing skills/creativity. I am sorry about the fact that there were no graphics for the Division updates section, so that must have been pretty boring to read. Anywho, I am going to end this email here because I have homework to catch up on!
