In light of International Convention 2020 being canceled, Key Club International has decided to hold a virtual conference to connect its members around the world. The conference will feature speakers, workshops, and the election process for your 2020-21 International Board will take place! If you are interested in learning more about the candidates for International Board, check out the Candidates Booklet. This is a FREE event that is open to all Key Clubbers, and the deadline to register is June 29th at 9:00 am. So please do not hesitate in signing up! If you are interested in learning more information/registering, make sure to click HERE. NOTE: Attendance at this event counts towards the Member Recognition Program as an International Event & Training Conference so be sure to let your secretaries know!

  • District Updates
    • District Convention 2021 Basic Information
DCON 2021 New Theme Reveal (2) (2)-page-001 (1).jpg
The CNH District Convention 2021 theme is Stargazing in Service. The following is some basic information you should know:
  • WHEN: April 9th to 11th, 2021
  • WHERE: Ontario Convention Center (2000 E Convention Center Way, Ontario, CA 91764)
  • COST: TBA
Keep your eyes peeled for various resources to be released on the CNH CyberKey throughout the summer! Remember to be proactive in promoting DCON to the club you serve.
      • District Convention 2021 Theme Logo Design Contest
Do YOU want to see a design YOU created showcased all around the CNH District? Are you inspired by all the stars and wonders in the sky? If so, submit a design for the District Convention 2021 Theme Logo Design Contest! If selected, your design will not only be on the DCON 2021 T-Shirt and pin but will also act as the logo for the entire event! This is your chance to expose your artwork to the CNH District, so don't miss out! DISCLAIMER: All artwork used will be credited to the original artist, but will be considered the property of CNH Key Club.
All of the guidelines can be found in the guide attached down below, so be sure to read through it carefully before creating your design.

Question of the Day: If you could have lunch with anyone in the world, who would it be? Bonus question: Did you notice anything about the colorway of this email?

  • Division Updates
    • June DWS: The Loveland Foundation (UPDATE)
thelovelandfounadation.jpg
Our June DWS: Trivia Night for a Cause was the first online hosted DWS and occurred last week! We had a great time bonding and playing Kahoot styled trivia! Thanks to the efforts of our Service Projects Coordinator, Sophia Li, we were able to raise $30 for The Loveland Foundation!
A huge thank you to the following people who participated and contributed to our cause:
  • Jacob Francisco of Early College
  • Kaitlin Madriaga of Mare Island Tech Academy
  • Katie Han of Benicia
  • Miah Chao of Benicia
  • Nayfa Isbeih of Early College
  • Sophia Li of Benicia
  • Yuna Bi of Benicia
Admission was only $1, but Kaitlin and Nayfa chose to donate $10 instead! They are the reason why we were able to donate upwards of $30 to The Loveland Foundation.
    • Officer Training Conference: Presentations & Recordings
Officer Training Conference 2020 occurred over a five-day period last week. You can access the presentations used in the Division 8 Resources folder. When you click on the folder, you will need to navigate: OTC Presentations: Guide for Officers, Your Responsibilities, etc. > 2020-2021 OTC. (In addition to training presentations, this resources folder contains valuable tutorials such as: How to Pay Dues, How to donate to PTP, etc. Be sure to check them out as well!). Unfortunately, the only recording missing is the Presidents' Training Conference because it slipped my mind to hit the record button. Apologies! ( ͡ಠ ͜ʖ ͡ಠ)
I also recommend that you access the Table of Contents before proceeding to the recording that you want to view. It will include the specific presentations in each conference, timestamps, and the link to the playlist for the recordings. It does get tiresome presenting Key Club 101 & Impacts of Membership Decline five times over, so don't feel the need to listen to that again if you already heard it. If you want to view a specific presentation for a certain training conference, this is the way to go!
If there was an MVP to be named in this situation, it would definitely go to our Division Tech Editor, Jacob Francisco of Early College! He sat through two hours of presentations over a course of five days (totaling up to 10 hours!), listened to me present the same two presentations over and over again, and aided me in clicking the slides. A huge thank you to him!
    • Region 9 Pen Pals 2020-2021
region9penpals.jpeg
Feeling bored during summer, especially in quarantine? The Lieutenant Governors of Region 9 decided to initiate pen pals in order to better connect our members. Take this chance to meet someone that has the same interests/hobbies as you, make a new friend, and bond with a member from the same region! 。◕‿◕。 To sign up, click HERE

  • Upcoming Events
    • Division 8 T-Shirt Design Contest
The Division 8 T-Shirt Design Contest is coming up! If your design ends up winning, it will be used on the shirts we wear at Fall Rally North and pretty much act as the face of our division for the 2020-21 term. I have included last year's designs in this folder. Feel free to look through in order to spark inspiration and get a gist of how you would want to go about your design this year. Start brainstorming ideas (no need to go to the drawing board just yet!) Once the contest is announced, you can begin drafting your design that can later be sent through the form that will be released. The reason why I'm holding back is that there are two schools on pending, I want to make sure they are chartered/in our division before opening up the contest, so they can be included on our shirt.
    • July DCM: Homemade Boba | Join us for some quaran-tea!
I'm sure all of us have experienced some cravings during this quarantine. ( ̄﹃ ̄) Does boba happen to be one of them? No need to fret, as I and your IP Lieutenant Governor, Katie Han, will be hosting a ZOOM call and teaching you how to make Boba Guys' signature drink, the Strawberry Matcha Latte! The graphic still needs to be created and so does the logistics such as the date/time (expect a date in mid to late July!) but I wanted to make an announcement in advance so people could gather the ingredients if they wanted to participate. Visit the San Francisco Chronicle's website containing a cookbook from Boba Guys, Here, you will find the ingredients that you will need for the drink! I recommend that you buy the following now/soon so you won't forget last minute (I personally had trouble finding the matcha powder so I ended up ordering it online):
  • Matcha Powder
  • Tapioca Pearls
  • Brown sugar
  • White sugar
  • Raw cane sugar (preferably Turbinado)
I expect that you might already have brown and white sugar at home already. In addition, items such as strawberries and milk should be bought as the date draws near to ensure freshness! More information will be released soon. I hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone that reached the end! Some exciting news, we are currently in the process of rechartering two Key Clubs at the following schools: Jesse Bethel & Will C. Wood. My goal is to have them added to our division by the end of the summer. In the meantime, continue practicing safe social distancing, wearing masks in public, and doing your part to slow the spread. I hope to be able to meet you all in person one day! ♥(ˆ⌣ˆԅ)
