Hello, Ballers!
Welcome to the first email of February! The major holiday of the month is Valentines' Day (or, for me, Singles Awareness Day) which you can probably tell from the colorway. This email is relatively short since we have yet to plan our February events, so it will be a short read!

This email will include the following:
  • Division Updates
    • Division Goals 2020-2021: Progress
    • January DWF: Kiwanis Gift Basket Auction & Bid (Recap)
    • January DWS: Notes of Affirmation (Recap)
  • Upcoming Events
    • February Service Week: 2/15 - 2/19
    • February DWS: Care Package Assembly

  • Division Updates
    • Division Goals 2020-2021: Progress
I have made the decision to change the Division goals for the 2020-2021 term in order to accommodate the ongoing circumstances. I made these goals during a time when it was expected that we would have another regular Key Club term, but considering the ongoing pandemic and the fact that it has halted a majority of activities, it has simply made the previous goals unattainable for the rest of our time. With that, see below for progress on our new & revised goals!
  • 4,539.59/4,200 Service Hours [108.85%]
    • Seeing as how we have surpassed our initial goal, the new Service Hours goal is now 5,000 hours!
  • $1,459.64/$2,000 for PTP [72.98%]
    • The former goal was $3,500 but has since been changed to $2,000 raised for PTP!
  • $603.10/$750 for MNT [80.41%]
    • The former goal was $1,000 but has since been changed to $750 raised for MNT! Another thing to note, it was never in my initial goals to raise money for MNT in the first place, so this was pretty spontaneous as well!
  • Charter at least (1) club [100%]
    • As of November 9th, Jesse Bethel has been chartered and joined Division 8!
Despite having to change our goals, I am incredibly proud of all the progress we have been able to make, seeing as how we've been in a pandemic that's halted our activities. Basically, we had to start from scratch considering this was the first instance of a virtual term. I can only imagine what we could have achieved in a normal Key Club term! I know it would just be phenomenal. To preview, we have surpassed our service hour goal, prompting me to change it to 5,000. I already know we are well on our way to surpassing that one as well :)
    • January DWF: Kiwanis Gift Basket Auction & Bid (Recap)
Thank you to everyone that attended our January DWF last week! We strayed away from our original basket ideas, having changed it to Self-Care, Breakfast, Valentines', Movie Night, and Baking. In the end, we were able to raise exactly $136.22 for PTP & MNT! I hope everyone either took it as a learning experience or as an opportunity to see some nice gift baskets.
    • January DWS: Notes of Affirmation (Recap)
The day before our January DWF was our January DWS! I personally was not able to attend because I gave myself a bit of a break that weekend :') However, for those that did, I hope you all had fun bonding and creating aesthetic notes of affirmation. Please give a special thank you to EA Sophia for taking the liberty of compiling them all into a slides presentation for your viewing pleasure. They will be posted to our socials as well, but until then, I highly recommend you check out the presentation in order to see all the cute and funny presentations that were made!

  • Upcoming Events
    • February DWS: Care Package Assembly

As a reminder, our continued Division-wide service event (originating from January) continues into February! We will be making care packages to donate to various organizations in Benicia, Fairfield, and American Canyon. They will also include essential items such as a snack, water, and more! In the end, we will be arranging them on a live call, while decorating the sandwich bag that will include the items as well as a handwritten note.
Unfortunately, if there is not enough interest, this event will be canceled :( So please, I highly encourage you to participate if you are interested! For more information on what materials we are looking for, where the care packages are going to, and where to donate, please access the form here or at bit.ly/d8carepackages.
    • February Service Week: 2/15 - 2/19
Our first ever service week starts next week, Monday, February 15th, and will last until Friday, February 19th! Better late than never after all. Please stay tuned on our socials to get a preview of the graphics as well as reminders to perform the daily activities. Regardless, the form to submit your hours can be found here or @ bit.ly/febserviceweek. It also includes a description of the service event as well as its cap. In advance, here are the activities!
  • Mailing Monday: 2/15
    • Write kind letters to postal workers and leave them in mailboxes to appreciate their work!
      • Max: 3 hours

What skill would you like to master? Personally, I would love to master calligraphy because I find it aesthetically pleasing and it would give me more reason to start a bullet journal!

Thank you for reaching the end of the email! We only have roughly two more months of email updates by me until Miah takes over! Although it will free up a lot of my time, it will definitely be a bittersweet ending. However, until then, I will be writing the updates ;) Until next time, guys!
