Our district will be 3 years old and is already joyful that we are giving birth to a new district soon! As informed to you earlier, the Board of Directors of Toastmasters International has approved the reformation of District 41 into two Districts – 41 S or South and 41 N or North (both are defined below). For the transition year 2014-2015, there shall be one District Governor for the combination of 41 S and 41 N, while each unit shall have a separate Lt. Governor of Education & Training and Lt. Governor of Marketing. (The 2 districts will be operational separately from 1st July 2015)
For a large district 41, covering 89% of India(> 1 billion people), we seek leaders who would serve with energy, enthusiasm and effectiveness!

Our District Leader Elections will be coming up soon at the Annual Business Meeting to be held along with District Council Meeting at our Annual District Conference, Oration 2014 in Goa during 16-18 May 2014. We are seeking nominations for the following officer roles for District 41 for the year 2014 - 2015:
* District Governor (1) for the entire District 41
* Lt Governor of Education & Training (2) one for 41 North^ and one
for 41 South*
* Lt Governor of Marketing (2) one for North^ and one for South*
* 7 Division Governors (based on the interim report of the
Realignment Committee)
The geographical demarcation of Divisions for 2014-15 will be as below:
Division A: Half of Gurgaon and East India (Current Division G minus Chattisgarh)
Division B: Delhi, UP, & Uttarakhand
Division C: Half of Gurgaon, rest of Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chandigarh, J & K & HP
Division D: Mumbai, Thane & Raigad Districts of Maharashtra, & entire states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, UTs of Dadra Nagar Haveli & Daman Diu
Division E: Pune, Western Maharashtra, Marathwada and Goa
Division F: Half of Hyderabad, rest of Andhra Pradesh (Current state of AP)
Division G: Half of Hyderabad, Chhattisgarh, & Vidarbha
I would like to salute the efforts of Realignment committee chaired by LGM Brillian S K.
Brillian worked tirelessly for this task along with the current 12 Division Governors. All 12 DVGs, LGM Brillian and mentor LGET Ritu had several meetings / concalls and reached this conclusion of having 7 divisions & 40+ areas for the next year. I shall forward you the proposed plan for aligning of each club later on, but for now, we need to know the broader definitions of Divisions.

All positions are for the year 2014-2015
and officers elected at the District Council Meeting in May 21014, shall assume responsibility of office on 1st
July 2014.

Please note that in our district, we elect the District Governor, the Lt Governor for Education & Training, Lt Governor for Marketing and the Division Governors. The District Secretary, Treasurer and PR Officer and Area Governors are not elected. They will be appointed by the incoming District Governor after approval by the District Council at the start of the new term.
Self-nomination will be accepted in addition to nomination by someone else on your behalf. In either case, the Officer Agreement & Release Form must be signed by the candidate.
Applicants for Division Governor’s position should mention the name of the division to be served (Divisions A – G, as applicable).
The deadline for receipt of
nominations is Midnight of Thursday 20th March 2014.
The District Governor reserves the right to extend the date if needed.
Post 20th March 2014, the
Nominating Committee shall interview and screen candidates for eligibility and
suitability and prepare the nomination slate. The slate shall be
announced to the district at least 4 weeks before the elections which are
scheduled to be held on 17th May, 2014 in Goa.
The Nomination Committee will be mentored by IPDG DTM Vinay Jain who has graciously agreed to spare some time from his busy schedule for this. Whenever the Nomination Committee seeks some help, he is willing to support and mentor them.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ONCE YOU SIGN OFFICER AGREEMENT RELEASE FORM, YOU FORFEIT A CHANCE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CURRENT SPEECH CONTEST SEASON! ONCE YOU DECLARE YOUR INTENT TO RUN FOR ONE OF THE ELECTED POSITIONS, YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AS A CONTESTANT, EVEN IF YOU WERE TO WITHDRAW THE SAME LATER ON.
