Show node elements incrementally?

Hi all

I am trying to build something like : https://vizhub.healthdata.org/gbd-compare/embed:treemap][1]

I am looking for the level feature. (shown at the bottom of page)

When the user opens the page, he should not be able to see the bofurcations of each node, instead an overall bifurcation, as he increases the level the node bifurcation should increase.

Is there anyway to do this using d3plus?
