Dear Governor Edna, All Star Team Presidents, District Officers and Rotarians,  

We would like to invite you to participate in the forthcoming District 3830 Disaster Management Committee's "Sagip Sakuna" seminar. This will be on Saturday, July 23, 2016, 10am-3PM and it will be held at the Spotlight Events Ave., Pasong Tamo Extension, Makati City. 

Experienced speakers will talk about the 4 phases of Disaster Management, our very own Admiral CP Danny Abinoja will speak about PREPAREDNESS, Red Cross and DSWD representatives will talk about RESCUE and REHABILITATION respectively. IPP Jun Banaria will explain the Policies and Guidelines of RI District 3830 for RELIEF Operations. The seminar will benefits Club Presidents and officers, community leaders ( RCC ), rotaractors, employees and family members.

Only Limited seats are available so register now! Registration is only Php500 that includes lunch! No onsite registrations!

This is my opinion for Disaster Management , Because we have many experience in Japan.

At first, We need exact Government master plan and law, then we can plan Disaster Management later on. 

Look at last time Cebu pacific air line case, Emergency landing in India from Dubai,

After landing, Passenger asked food and drinks because they stay 8 hours in Airplane and no gasoline to no air con after 2 hours later. But airline crew insist to sell food and drinks even this kind of emergency.  

Why ? There are no Cebu pacific leader within 8 hours and no rules at all. 

Last Kumamoto city earthquake in Japan. automatically set up The emergency headquarter under Minister office after 15 minute, and Minister Abe announced on TV to order Levels of disaster after 25 minute. Same time, all military and police office send Plane and helicopter  to check real situation and prioritize first aid location within 35 minute, then send  persons who can support this disaster victims with effective fools and machine .  

And we need Level of disaster.  for example, Disaster area All Medical facilities will open this victims to free , Disaster area All supermarket and convenience store drug store will open to serve victims  by free. Because of law and guarantee by Government.   

And preparation, each Barangay have to keep emergency food and water stocks, and first aid kit? 

in Japan we have rule and regulation to keep 5 years guaranteed  water and food for area persons next 1 day.

How about Police station or Military office ? 

 If  M 8 earthquake hit Manila, how many people are become victims ?  10 -20 million.

How many peoples die  first 10 minute ? and next 20 minute? then finally how many peoples die from No first aid , No water , No food ?

And we need building code for disasters by Government. 

 I want to know at first, what is rule it is.

Sorry for this kind of my opinion. But we lost  17,000 our peoples in  6 years befores' Tohoku  earthquake and tsunami.

When that time, I was president of Makati South and donated this disaster pass by Kesen numa Rotary ( one of big damage area Rotary ) US 70, 000 with Singapore sister club.

July 31. Today is the Feast day of St. Ignatius of Loyola. (Priest . 1491-1556).
St. Ignatius, founder of the Jesuits was born in Loyola, Spain , in 1491. He was in his way to military fame and fortune when a cannon ball shattered his leg. Because there were no books of romance on hand, he whiled away the time during his convalescence, the life of Christ and lives of the saints. He was deeply touched, and having seen the Mother of God in vision, he made a pilgrimage to her shrine in Monserrat near Barcelona. He remained in Manresa, sometimes with the Dominicans, in a paupers' hospice, often inside a cave praying. After a period of great piece of mind, he went through a harrowing trial of scruples. There was no comfort in anything- prayer, fasting, sacraments, penance, and at lenght his peace of mind returned. His conversion led him to write which became his greatest work, the "Spiritual Exercises". He spent his 11 years in the universities in Europe, was twiced jailed because they questioned 
his orthodoxy. In 1534, at age 43, he and 6 others , one of whom is St, Francis Xavier, vowed to live in poverty and chastity and went to the Holy Land, and organized the Society of Jesus, their battle cry "Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam" meaning " For the Greater Glory of God". Approved by Pope Paul III and Ignatius was its first General. Obedience was to be his prominent virtue, that all activities was to be guided by true love of the church, unconditional obedience to the Holy Father. He spent the rest of his life in Rome, became the friend of St. Philip Neri. St. Ignatius died peacefully in 1556. 
Prayer : " Receive, Lord , all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my whole will. You have given me all that I have, all that I am, and I surrender all to your divine will, that you dispose of me. Give me only your love and your grace. With this I am rich enough, and I have no more to ask". Amen. 
St. Ignatius is patron saint of retreats.
