ANNA TROPICAL APPLES were introduced in Uganda from Israel in 1999, first in Kabale District as a CASH CROP, and now they are scattered all over the Country (UGANDA), and they are doing so well both commercially and domestically. Anna produces remarkable fruits for, heavy crops of sweet, crisp, flavorful apples even in the tropical climate. Anna has a long shelf life, and can Keep 2 months in refrigerator. ANNA APPLES ARE PURPLISH IN COLOR. Anna is Self-fruitful or pollinated by Dorsett Golden. apples are early season growers with a beautiful Golden yellow-green color and a lovely light crisp and most importantly, it needs a lower amount of cold weather to go into blooming, this makes it is possible to grow in warm climates.
Out of the 7,500 apple varieties to consider, the Dorsett Golden apples are one of the few that thrives in tropical growing conditions..

GOLDEN DORSETT:

Sweet Flavor Profile, Out of all the 7,500 apples Varieties, Golden Dorsett apples are some of the sweetest. These lightly aromatic apples are juicy and sweet with a refreshing crunch. When grown in extremely healthy and fertile soil, the flesh can be a great combination of firm yet creamy for a refreshing, healthy snack.

APPLES ORCHARD ESTABLISHMENT:

Apples are planted at a spacing of 3x3m, that is 450 seedlings per acre. Pits are dug at 2x2ft, applying adquate manure or fertilizer at the time of planting. Agronomically, you need to carry our a soil sample analysis to determine the suitability of the towards commercial apples growing.

MATURITY PERIOD:

Under good management and care, your apples should be able to start fruiting after 24 months, that is applying adquate manure or fertilizer and availing water during the dry season. Your Apples Orchard yields will be determined by your management and care.
