topojson group by continent

hello,

i am trying to figure out how to group the countries per continent directly from the world.json file so that i can give them a class attribute. but looking at the /topo/world.json file i have https://gist.github.com/nkhine/3150901/raw/4116c70e8517f325444dd0cd1b216e27ba11981a/topo%2Fworld.json this property is not available.

is there a way to create this file to include the continent_id?

any advise much appreciated.

Natural Earth v2.0 seems to have info about continents, so follow the steps described in 'Let's Make a Map'

and you should have a good start at it...
