Hi,

I need a chart containing multiple Y axis and 1 X axis.

What i'm trying to achieve is, a simple analysis tool of how different values change over time to help in troubleshooting hardware devices.

One example is:

I want to following information about a hardware device over a period of 24hours.

So on the X axis i need time, and on the Y axis I will need values like: voltage (for battery level), accuracy (value from 1-10) etc...

Any idea of what kind of chart is ideal for this use case ?

I was thinking of something between: (Multi-Series line chart) http://bl.ocks.org/mbostock/3884955 and (Bullet chart) http://bl.ocks.org/mbostock/4061961

Is something like the example at this link what you're after?

Not exactly, the use case that i have is more that i will probably have more than 2 y axis.

Actually i just found this chart: http://square.github.com/cubism/

Hopefully i can have different types of values in it, and if that works it's perfect.

Thanks for your help :)

Here is another example:

However, keep in mind that it might be overkill to use nvd3 just for a simple chart.
Usually it's ok if you have to use several charts and you want a chart development philosophy...

Of course, all this should be put in perspective. Use of multiple y-axes is not a good idea in general. See for instance the study on dual-scale data charts where P. Isenberg et al. "discourage the use of the superimposed chart".
Best,
F

If you want to use bar charts there is a extension from nvd3 that implement a second y-axis.
