Service in July, Week 1
We had over 50+ participants during service during the summer. That is something that isn't typically done, especially it being a WHOLE week and AT-HOME! I hope you all had fun competing against your friends and making items for the community.

Recap:
Monday: Free Rice
One school against another school was a sight to watch as you all were trying to earn the ultimate spot of first place. I'm happy to see so many that participated and helped feed those who are suffering from hunger around the world. Spring Valley came in the first place and they donated 2,305,440 grains of rice. In total, Division 28 South donated 6,640,540 grains of rice.
Tuesday: Dog Toys
Thank you to those who joined the live with me! I hope you had a fun time chatting, listening to music, and making dog toys with me.
Wednesday: Clean up your neighborhood
Thank you to those who helped clean your neighborhoods! It aligns with CNH's Spotlight on Service Project for this month. To learn more, scroll down!
Thursday: Thank You to Healthcare Workers
Thank you to those who joined the live with me! I hope you had a fun time chatting, listening to music, and making dog toys with me. For those who missed the live, I made an IGTV How-To Video so also check that out!
Friday: Chalk Sidewalk Art
Thank you to those who drew inspirational quotes and drawings to light up someone's day! All the drawings were very cute UWU

If you have still yet to fill out the form or know of someone who needs it, make sure you/they do! Every service hour counts!

Channel Kindness Award
We know that even in times of crisis, kindness is always possible. And so, we encourage youth to come up with service project ideas on how they can continue to support mental health by spreading kindness in the Las Vegas community with the Channel Kindness Awards (http://bornthisway.foundation/channelkindnessawards/). We are accepting applications until August 1, 2020; The recipients will receive a grant to help bring their service idea to life, and the nonprofit organization their project supports will also receive a financial award.

As you know, the health and safety of our young people is our number one priority, and given the importance of physical distancing, we want to encourage service project submissions that can be done at home. Examples of projects include writing encouraging thank you notes to healthcare workers, collecting non-perishable items for a local food bank, or making care packages for seniors currently experiencing heightened isolation.

We also want to encourage service project submissions that support the Black community. Examples of projects include educating others on being an ally or creating a little free library for your neighborhood with books about antiracism. Please contact jas...@bornthisway.foundation if you have any questions or concerns.

Division/District July Newsletter
Please go check the Division News Editor, Aliya's work, and District News Editor, Nancy on Issuu. This is where you can get some reading and be updated on what's going on in the division AND district with articles and visuals provided.

BEE Clean! Spotlight on Service
Each month, there is a theme for service. This month's theme is BEE Clean, ensuring our communities stay healthy and clean. This can be picking up trash or recycling.
Here is the manual to help guide you to BEE Clean:
Here is the form to submit what your club did to BEE Clean:

Regional Training Conference (Updated)
Due to COVID-19, the region team and I sadly have to inform you that Regional Training Conference, better known as RTC, has been postponed to the spring. As one of the largest events, holding up to 3,000+ members, everyone's safety comes first. The region team and I are currently planning what will happen in the fall in place of RTC. More details will be released but for now, we will be holding a virtual RTC 1.0 around September with our educational workshops. Please don't be disappointed! We will do our best to live up to what RTC could be :)

AND YOU DID IT! You made all the way to the end. It was definitely a lot of information to process but please check it out! The next few months will become busy so make sure to savor your summer while it's still here. Service in July Week Two starts today! Until next time <3
