If anyone has any pictures of the San Antonio area for the flyer, please forward them to Tonya Love ASAP.  It would be nice to have a picture of San Antonio Park, Bella Vista fence sign, a Victorian house, Clinton Park, a local Asianmarket, and a picture of roses in bloom in the Rose Garden would help round out the pictures in the flyer.  I'm out of the country right now so can't do it.

First, thanks to the folks who created the photo album on facebook--great idea. Also glad that Kathy has asked for photos of the rest of District 2, including the San Antonio, Eastlake and Chinatown, which were not in the original mix. I will send some photos I have, but hope others will too.

Hi everyone,

I hope I didn't offend anyone by not including all the sites of District 2 on the Facebook page. I had not received a lot pictures after Kathy asked for them previously, so in looking for more photos for the flyer and the page I went out for 3 hours on Sunday and went on a walk and took some pictures for as far as I could walk.

In the photo album and in the email I sent to the googlegroups about the page, I asked that you feel free to post pictures of Your neighborhood, make comments and generate conversation as well. This is a community page. The whole community should participate, not just me. So, please, don't feel that you have to send pictures to me, or ask my permission, in order for them to be posted on the Facebook page.

As well, if you would like to become an admin of the page..Please do so. This will be a great way for you to post your articles, announcements, photos etc. Become a fan of the page and then let me know you want to be an admin and I will make you one. :) It would be great if there was someone from each neighborhood be an admin of the page. (that way I won't feel so alone and pressured! LOL)

As far as the flyer, we have pics of BellaVista, of San Antonio, Harbor House, GrandLake, Lakeshore, and FM Smith Park so far. A picture of China town will be nice... but please keep in mind. Only 8 spots on the flyer are free (two others go to Jean Quan and Pat Kernighan) . So please don't be mad if all of your pictures aren't chosen to be on the flyer. I will make sure that all areas are represented as best as I can, but like I said only 8 slots, and there are a lot of neighborhoods in District 2. 

Please send me samples as soon as you can, I would like to get the photos to Sam McNeal by this afternoon.

Don't be surprised if you don't get much response, but do know that you tried.  I think we are fine with the selection of pictures, Chinatown is actually having their own separate Cantonese speaking townhall.  But it would be nice if people got on board with your offer about the googlegroups.

I couldn't figure out how to add my photos on Facebook.  Instead, I'm attaching 3 photos with this email and 3 with a separate email to keep down the size of the download.  These are all above the freeway in the Grand Lake neighborhood and some duplicate what you've already posted.

P.S.  For future reference as you're doing other districts,  you can request photos of specific districts by posting a message in the discussion board of the Oakland Group on Flickr:  http://www.flickr.com/groups/oakland/.  Alternatively, you can look through the photos posted on this site and ask for permission to use.

Thanks for showing the selection of photos. There are several that are not in District 2: those of the lake and that of the wide sidewalk and seating at El Embarcadero (street connecting Lakeshore and Grand between the Lakeview library and the Pergola). These are in District 3.
