Thanks so much for passing this along, Betsy.

I'd like everyone to take a close look at this over the weekend so that we can have an initial discussion about it at the Land Use meeting this Tuesday.  There has been a tremendous amount of discussion this past year about public process and how decisions get made, particularly at the local level.  One arm of this discussion has produced Saint Paul Strong (which I will not editorialize at this time), another has been our and others' work on equitable development and equitable decision-making.  It will be extremely important that we as an organization reaffirm our strong commitment to equity.  That is why we need to make sure this document is comprehensive and reflects our values surrounding diversity.  It is far easier to advocate for an inclusive process when there is an established framework to reference.
