Take a look at this and see if you need to hear directly from Tim on Tuesday about this or whether this is enough for you to make a decision about recommending to the board that we put in some seed money for this work.

Subject: Transit and Economic Development Summit

Hello Chuck, Amy, Betsy, Dan, Bao and Alfreda,

Here is a draft of the preliminary outline for the transit and economic development summit I have been speaking with you about.  This is a draft and each of you I have asked to be part of the steering team or advisory role in some capacity.  I think it is important that the steering team at this stage include organizations and people who are working with constituencies who we feel are needed at this table who will be impacted most by not typically being at the table.  Rather that saying this will be a Transit and Equity Economic Development Summit and talk all about how we are going to make all these efforts to reach out into our cultural and ethnic communities, I believe the best way to make this happen is the Driving force needs to be the organizations who already are working with and have relationships within these communities and know best how to communicate with them effectively.  What this event and beyond the event can catalyze is an interconnected working relationship on how dependence on, access to, quality of, frequency of, the where and when about transit intersects everything each of our organizations do.

Please review and please mark it up, ask questions, what questions are not asked or answered? Who is missing from this table or list? Although not required, would you be willing to commit $500, $1000, $2500 to this cause to keep this moving? Will you commit to be on this steering team?

I have Chuck, Betsy, and Alfreda on board for sure.  Amy is very interested, Bao and I meet on Thursday, Dan will help where he can.  Dan will you be part of the steering team officially?
