Hello Division 14!

I hope you all are having a wonderful start to summer break and getting plenty of rest. School may be over but Key Club isn’t! The term has just begun and there are plenty of events coming up in June and July.

Please respond to this email confirming you have read and understood its contents. Feel free to tell me your favorite tv show!

June DCM/OTC

Almost a week away is our June DCM and our first Officer Training Conference of the term! They will be held back to back at the Yuba City Unified School District Office from 8:00am-12:00pm, Monday, June 25th. Please do let me know if you are unable to make it so I can account for all supplies and food. Also at our DCM we will be discussing some very exciting topics so I urge everyone to come!

Key to College

CSU Sacramento will be hosting a Key to College event on June 16th. It will be located at Mendocino Hall from 9:00am-3:00pm. I highly encourage everyone who is able to attend to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. I am quite sad that I am not able to make it but I will be on the lookout for any more to promote.

Division Leadership Team

I would like to proudly announce the appointment of one of our Division Spirit Coordinators, Kayla Lila! We are eager to work together on improving spirit relations and making this Key Club term an enjoyable experience for everyone.

The following positions are still available:

- Executive Assistant (2)
- Secretary
- News Editor
- Tech Editor
- Communications and Marketing Coordinator
- Historian
- Member Recognition Coordinator
- Member Development and Education Coordinator
- Service Projects Coordinator
- Spirit Coordinator
- PTP Coordinator

Even though the application period has closed, you can always reach out to me and we can discuss options to see if you’d work well as a member of the DLT. You may contact me in any way that feels comfortable to you.

July DCM

Our July DCM will be held at Hillcrest Park on July 21st from 10:00am-12:00pm! We will be having our annual Summer Olympics where each club will compete for the honor of winning the spirit stick. Hope to see everyone there for some fun with your fellow division members!

Service Projects

Please do reference the calendar for upcoming service projects in the area. If you are looking for more ideas, feel free to contact your club president for upcoming club projects.

Graphic Design Team Application

The CNH Graphic Design Team (GDT) lead by our District Tech Editor, Archishma Kavalipati, is opening applications for artists to help create graphics and promotional material! Some of the work done by this amazing subcommittee is monthly bee graphics (Key Club Week, the four core values, Service in Wonderland), infographics, presentations, and newsletters. If you would like to apply, please contact me for more information.

What’s Poppin’ CNH - S3E1

The first video of the 2018-2019 term has been uploaded! “Meet the District Board” walks you through the many people that will be serving you this term. I challenge all of you to familiarize yourself with the executives and District Leadership Team so come DCON you are an expert.

Club MRFs

I would like to thank the following club for submitting May’s MRF on time:

East Nicolaus
Gridley
Marysville
River Valley
Yuba City

Remember: you can always submit late! The information sent to me in the club MRFs helps me complete the division MRF with all the hard work you have done. In order to reach Division and District Goals, proper documentation is crucial to recognize everyone’s hours and funds.

Division and District Goals

I do apologize for this but I have made a change to our 2018-2019 goals. Originally at our April DCM, I challenged us to reach 9,000 service hours by April. I did not feel comfortable announcing such a large number compared to last year, but was pressured to do so anyway. I feel 5,000 is much more obtainable and reasonable of a number for this term. If we are able to surpass this goal, my expectations will be more than met. 9,000 is great goal but I do not want anyone becoming discouraged if we do not reach it.

Our funds raised goal is still the same at $1000 for PTP and I would like to see an increase in membership resulting in 400 members strong.

Our CNH district goals for the term is $250,000 for PTP, 1.1 million service hours, and 41,500 dues paid members.

Spotlight on Service Program

Each month the District Service Projects committee lead by our very own IP Lt. Governor Lily Marshall sets a theme for service to encourage participation. June’s theme is Health and Safety! Some possible projects could be volunteering at swim lessons, helping out at a hospital (check for age requirements), or participating in park/river cleanups!

District Newsletter

Our District News Editor Jenny Chen has published the first newsletter of the 2018-2019 term! It covers a wide range of topics from recognition to updates to meeting the executives. I encourage all members to look over it when they have a chance to stay updated on all things CNH!

Thank you and as always contact me if you have any questions. Have a nice day.
