Purpose
Many members are not aware of the real purpose of Fall Rally. At Fall Rally, we are not there just to have fun. We are not there just to gather all together and have spirit battles against one another. We are not there to just sell our merchandise and buy merchandise from other divisions. It's all of these and more. Specifically, we are there to celebrate raising money for the Pediatric Trauma Program.

The money raised for PTP goes to grants to our partner hospitals such as the Kapi'olani Children's Hospital in Hawaii and Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, California. Additionally, the money goes to Kiwanis and back to SLP programs in the form of grants, allowing them to help more children in their communities. Finally, the funds raised will provide PTP safety items, like helmets and car seats, to needy families.

We want to be together to commemorate the joyous accomplishments we have made in our efforts to reduce the number of deaths by trauma, which is an easily preventable death.

Division 14 Meeting Time: 9:45am The park opens at 10:00am and I'd like us all to meet as a division in front after everyone has been paid for. This is to ensure that we are all in the right place at the right time before the rally starts.

Tickets

Here are the details of the tickets:

Fall Rally North:
Prices: Pre-Sale is $35; On-site is $39
Parking: Car/Bus parking is $25. Discounted parking can be found in Extras on the Six Flags sign-up link in their website.
Season Pass Holders: They pay $5 for entrance to the rally.
Meal Vouchers: In Extras, people can buy a meal voucher and/or an all-you-can-eat buffet ticket.

Purchasing Process
The process of buying the Fall Rally tickets varies. There are 3 different processes for three different instances: pre-saleon-site, and season-pass holders.

Pre-Sale:

Fall Rally North:
ONLINE: You can purchase the admission tickets and the extras(i.e. discounted parking) by clicking HERE. If you pay online, you MUST use a credit card.
  • PRE-SALE CLOSES ON OCTOBER 18TH, 2018 AT 11:59 PM PST
On-Site:
You must go to the Key Club booth (where it is located specifically will be announced when the date nears) and purchase the tickets there. An adult chaperone must handle the purchasing of the tickets and only 1 student should accompany them. This is so that we do not overcrowd the ticket booths. It is perfectly fine to purchase tickets at the gate but please note it is at a higher price (and longer wait).

Season Pass Holders:
You must go to your chaperone and show them your season pass. They will then give you a ticket. Once you obtain a ticket, you will go to the Key Club booth, it will most likely be located close to the ticket booths, to get your hand stamped.

Since the rally entrance "ticket" is a stamp, the season-pass holders must accompany you as you purchase the stamps. The stamp, which will be placed on their hand, allows them entrance into the spirit rally.

Season pass holders pay $5 instead of the full price.

Registration
Once clubs have finalized their number of Fall Rally attendees, they must complete THIS online registration form. This will help us prepare for the number of attendees for each Fall Rally.

Can/Can'ts:
  • You can bring:
    • Tutus
    • Sashes
    • Shirts/Sweaters
    • Pom Poms
    • Foam fingers
    • Face paint
    • Bandanas
    • Hats
    • Flags
    • Full body costumes (ONLY IN THE RALLY)
  • You can't bring:
    • Thundersticks (especially true for FRN; the animals in the surrounding area get extremely scared and frantic)
    • Powder to throw in the air
    • Clothespins
    • Whistles
    • Pins/buttons
    • Balloons
    • Large banners
    • Full body costumes (IN PARK; faces may not be covered inside the park)
    • Hand Clappers
    • Bullhorns
    • Crazy glue
    • Any small items (hazardous to animals)
Despite the long list of cannot's, people still tend to bring these items. Please lead by example by not bringing those items/ordering them for the division. Discourage members from taking these items listed with them to Fall Rally, also. We want our experiences to be fun and safe ones. As well, it is a privilege for us to host our Fall Rallies at Six Flags, so please, represent Key Club well.

"BEE Clean, CNH!" Please avoid spirit gear that will only be thrown away at the end of the rally. It's very wasteful.

Important Tips + Reminders
  • Ask your Kiwanis advisors and faculty advisors to chaperone at Fall Rally.
  • Food does get expensive and they do check your bags at the door for any food. Bring any food at your own risk.

November DCM

Our November DCM will be held on the 16th at Yuba City High School! More information to follow.

When: November 16th, 5:00pm
Where: 850 B St, Yuba City, CA 95991

T-Shirts and PTP Donations

When sending shirt/spirit item payment please send to:

Dale Reasor
Landd SpecialT’s
P.O. Box 1175
Manteca, CA 95336

PLEASE NOTE: There was a typo on the spirit form address. The correct address is 1175 NOT 1165. I have been notified since it is a P.O. Box it may be forwarded to the correct address. If mail is returned to sender, please send to the correct address.

PTP Donations

It is highly encouraged that clubs and divisions fundraise for PTP before Fall Rally! For more information on fundraising for PTP, check out the fundraising manual on the Cyber Key!

Submission Process
  1. Have an advisor help you collect funds. You should never be handling money on your own.
  2. Count funds with an advisor present and document the totals. We do not receive division PTP totals until the day of Fall Rally, so it is imperative that you keep track of funds raised by the clubs you serve yourself through a tracker.
  3. Reimburse individuals if needed.
  4. Have an adult or advisor generate a check, fill out the PTP Donation form (found on the Cyberkey and attached below), and mail both the check and the PTP form to:
    • ATTN: Bruce Hennings, Key Club PTP Donation
      Cali-Nev-Ha (CNH) District Office
      8360 Red Oak Street #201
      Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91370
Memo Line: Club ID/Division Number (Important if you want the division you serve to receive credit at Fall Rally)
Tips/Reminders:
  • It is suggested that clubs scan all of the PTP donation checks that they send to the District Office just in case their donation is not recorded in time for the rally.
  • Although submitting cash donations at the rallies is allowed, it takes a lot of time to count all of the bills. Please coordinate with an advisor to submit check donations only.
  • Coins will be accepted for donations but will not be counted towards division bidding totals.

October District Newsletter

Our District News Editor Jenny Chen has released the October newsletter containing International updates, Fall Rally coverage, what to include in a club website, tips for college applications, and recognition! If you're ever looking for ideas for club newsletters I strongly suggest taking a look!

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF.png

Key Club International partners up with UNICEF every year to raise money for the Eliminate Project through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. A little bit of history:

"...Key Club has been Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF since 1994, raising over $7 million. Combating iodine deficiency worldwide and HIV and AIDS in Kenya and Swaziland are just some of the programs Key Club has supported. Since 2011, Key Club’s Trick-or-Treat donations have funded The Eliminate Project, which supports the elimination of maternal and neonatal tetanus globally."

You may order your collection boxes through the link below free of charge. There are many types of fundraisers your club can do for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF like bake/candy sales, penny wars, walk-a-thons, and Halloween parties! Feel free to get creative!

Region Advisor

It has come to my attention that some clubs may be under the impression that Ms. Cameron is the Region Advisor. Ms. Cameron stepped down in May, and Mr. Mercado, Region 16 Advisor, and Mr. Gin, District Administrator, have graciously been serving as temporary advisors. If you would like to contact them, here are their email addresses:

Of course, if you have any questions at all, please never hesitate to ask! Feel free to email or text me!

Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful week!
