October DCM

Our October DCM is coming up this Friday and I have attached the agenda down below. We will be making baby blankets for UC Davis Children's Hospital! Please be aware that the start time has been pushed forward an hour. Remember, an officer and faculty advisor are expected to attend in order to pick up their club's t-shirts at this DCM. Bring a completed order form so that everyone is able to sign off that the shirts were received. If you have any questions, please contact me.

When:
Friday, October 12th, 6:00pm
Where: Gridley High School, Library

T-Shirt Payment

When sending shirt/spirit item payment please send to:

Dale Reasor
Landd SpecialT’s
P.O. Box 1175
Manteca, CA 95336

PLEASE NOTE: There was a typo on the spirit form address. The correct address is 1175 NOT 1165. I have been notified since it is a P.O. Box it may be forwarded to the correct address. If mail is returned to sender, please send to the correct address.

If you would like me to verify your total cost, that's no problem. Please remember to fill out an order form and bring it to our DCM to receive your shirts!

October District Newsletter

Our District News Editor Jenny Chen has released the October newsletter containing International updates, Fall Rally coverage, what to include in a club website, tips for college applications, and recognition! If you're ever looking for ideas for club newsletters I strongly suggest taking a look!

Spotlight on Service Program

This month's theme is UNICEF! The obvious way to participate is to be active in Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF but you can also educate your school about Maternal Neonatal Tetanus and the Eliminate Project! Another way to participate is holding an E-lemon-ate Stand!

Every month, clubs throughout the District have the chance to be featured in the District Newsletter for performing an outstanding service event that aligns with the SOSP Monthly Focus. The link to the submission form can be found here. Submissions are due to the form on the 5th of each month by 6:00pm PST. Pictures must be sent to the Service Projects Chair at cnhk...@gmail.com.

Spotlight on Education Program

This month's theme is Retention! Some ways to keep up member retention in your clubs is to advertise meetings, create a group chat, and hold a service event on campus! You want to generate interest throughout the year to prevent members from losing passion.

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF
Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF.png

Key Club International partners up with UNICEF every year to raise money for the Eliminate Project through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF. A little bit of history:

"...Key Club has been Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF since 1994, raising over $7 million. Combating iodine deficiency worldwide and HIV and AIDS in Kenya and Swaziland are just some of the programs Key Club has supported. Since 2011, Key Club’s Trick-or-Treat donations have funded The Eliminate Project, which supports the elimination of maternal and neonatal tetanus globally."

You may order your collection boxes through the link below free of charge. There are many types of fundraisers your club can do for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF like bake/candy sales, penny wars, walk-a-thons, and Halloween parties! Feel free to get creative!

Fall Rally North

Fall Rally North 2018 this year is at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom on Saturday, October 20th! The event will run from 9:30am-10:00pm with the day starting out at an opening session. Your club does not have to stay the entire time-members can decide on when to leave after opening session. The chaperone ratio is 1:12 and not gender specific

This is a truly wonderful event so please start planning ahead of time for ticket costs and transportationDon't forget your spirit gear!

Tickets may be purchased in advanced using this link:

Please print out your tickets as they will not be mailed to you. You can purchase tickets at the gate but at a higher price (and longer wait).

Region Advisor

It has come to my attention that some clubs may be under the impression that Ms. Cameron is the Region Advisor. Ms. Cameron stepped down in May, and Mr. Mercado, Region 16 Advisor, and Mr. Gin, District Administrator, have graciously been serving as temporary advisors. If you would like to contact them, here are their email addresses:

Of course, if you have any questions at all, please never hesitate to ask! Feel free to email or text me!

Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful week!
