January DCM: Location Change🐶

The January DCM will be moved to Live Oak High School due to conflicting events. The start time has been pushed up to 4:00pm to account for everyone's schedules, but do not worry if you have to come late. We will be making dog toys out of old t-shirts for the Sutter Buttes Canine Rescue in Gridley! If you have any shirts that you’d like to get rid of (or are just realizing you have way too many for college in a few months) bring them with you! I will also be covering conclave procedure and other important topics while at the DCM.

When: Friday, January 18th, 4:00pm
Where: Live Oak High School, Classroom #D-04

Conclave

For those of you who don’t know, conclave is where we hold our elections for the new Lt. Governor of the 2019-2020 term! This will be held at River Valley High School. Anybody who is seriously considering running should contact me immediately. The last date to schedule your mandatory call with Ms. Sakurada is today, January 16th. In case you did not receive my last email regarding running for Lt. Governor, here is all the important information:

How to Run For Lieutenant Governor:
    1. Schedule a pre-requisites teleconference call with Region Advisor, Ms. Sakurada
    2. Register online on THIS form, for your intent to run for Lt. Governor. This form should be filled out no later than Saturday, January 12th.
    3. Download and fill out the Service Agreement Form which can be found HERE. ALL sections must be completed with all the required signatures to be valid. This form must be completed and received by no later than Saturday, January 19th. Further instructions can be found on the form itself.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT CAMPAIGNING IS NOT ALLOWED!*

In other words, your candidacy should not be announced on any forms of social media. This will give you an unfair advantage, and will disqualify you from running for Lieutenant Governor.

You are allowed to seek endorsement from your home club! Endorsement consists of you doing a speech in front of your home club and seeking their support in running. If your home club chooses to endorse you, you may include it on your literature. If you have any questions about endorsement, please contact me!

After your speech, also remind your home club members that campaigning is not allowed and that they should not discuss your candidacy with others outside of the club.

Presidents, please task at least one of your dues-paid officers or members to serve as a delegate at this event (with a maximum of two delegates per club) in order to have a valid election. 50% of dues-paid clubs must be in attendance as well. Candidates should wear business professional while delegates and spectators are encouraged to wear business casual (though not enforced!).

Please be sure to attend this event whether as a delegate or a spectator to participate in the future of Division 14.
