The Giver
In the story The Giver the utopian society portrayed by
Lois Lowry has many links to systems used by people worldwide for
example the Indian caste system or just censorship we deal with today.
Also like some people today, the people don’t know of the problems and
flaws that exist in the world and the utopian system they live in.
Another major link to the world is the effect on the main character
Jonas when he finds out his perfect world is not that perfect, which
is how people are starting to view the American dream. The world in
the story The giver is not so farfetched from the United States and
the world in which we live in.
