Blank was her face,
Empty as the wallet she held.
Silent stares spoke the words,
As people looked to see,
The woman who held the power of change.
Cuffs covered brave hands with cold metal
Behind her back.
The cover of her skin never stopped her.
All she did was sit,
Sit in a seat labeled “Whites Only”.
But now the police car opens its arms
And swallows her inside
