Hello,

I had recently created a new network that contained attached image
files to each node and saved it as a .cys file. However, when trying
to open the saved .cys file the next day it would not load the
network. The first time an error message about the images popped up,
but on a second attempt to open the network a different message popped
up claiming it had successfully loaded the previously saved network,
but there was still no saved network opened. The file shows that
there is content in there so something still exists.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

Hi Laura,
I'd be happy to look into this. Could you please send me the .cys
file? [jrusch...@ucsd.edu]. Also, which OS are you using?

Hi Laura,

Thanks for sending me that Cytoscape session file (.cys). I looked at
it and it does not contain any network files. Maybe that's the state
Cytoscape was in when you saved it? If you can produce one that
loads with no network file while Cytoscape actually has a network in
the network panel, that would be a serious bug, but, for now I am
assuming that you had no networks while you saved this. Maybe you
accidentally deleted your network before saving this? Please let me
know if you have found a way to create session files that have no
networks even though when you save you actually do have networks in
the network panel. Thanks!

Good afternoon,

I may have not saved the network properly that I sent you. However, I
also tested each of the 22 images that I used in the original file I
sent to you to see if there was a single image that was causing the
problem. I attached a single image to a node, saving each node with
image to its network in it's own session and then attempted to reload
the session with the single network; all weren't able to be reloaded.
I then created a session with two networks in it; one with a couple
nodes each with an image attached to it and one with a couple plain
nodes. I saved it and re-opened Cytoscape and attempted to reload the
session with the two networks, the one with the images on the nodes
was unable to open while the network with plain nodes opened without a
problem. I'm not sure if the network with the attached images
completely wipes out the network file or not? I'll send you the .cys
file of the two networks with both attached images and plain nodes as
well.

Thanks for your continued help!
