Optimal settings for "bundle edges"

Though I have used bundle edges a lot, I still am not sure what the optimal settings are to most tightly bundle edges? I find it improves my graph appearance a lot, but it is computationally expensive and time consuming so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on the network topology and layout, but in general, but in general you can use smaller Spring Constant and bigger max. iteration creates tight bundling.
The following are results with default and tweaked parameters. Usually 1000-5000 iterations are good enough.
