Dear Admin,

I use Ubuntu 16.04 LTS OS with installed Java version java version "1.8.0_181"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_181-b13)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.181-b13, mixed mode)
I downloaded the Cytoscape_3_6_1_unix.sh, gave permissions and run it on the terminal in sudo access.
it shows starting the installer but nothing is displayed.
I waited for really long time (for hours) but no response.
A folder is created but no error is shown.
Can you help in resolving the issue?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I've been running Cytoscape in Ubuntu 16.04 for quite some time and I haven't experienced this. What is the destination folder you are attempting to install to?

Is there any terminal output at all?

Thanks,

David

Dear David,

Thanks for reply.
I see absolutely nothing except for start of installation in terminal. The folder appears in the home directory but installation never moves forward

I can't replicate this on Ubuntu 16.04; Cytoscape still installs correctly, and I'm able to run after the install.

The only thing I'm doing differently is that I don't use `sudo` for my installation, as all the data will be going into my home directory (as in your setup). If you're to replicate that, you may have to delete the previously generated directory.

I did that. I deleted the folder and tried to reinstall it several times and the same problem continues.
