Like others, when trying to install 3.4.0 on a 64 bit system, Im getting the error "The install4j wizard could not find a java(TM) Runtime environment on your system."
I have 64 bit version of JAVA.  I even uninstalled and reinstalled it.  Still getting same error.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Can you run the troubleshooting script at the following page?

That should tell us what's going on...

I ran into the same problem, I ran the troubleshooter, and it found that the java version was not correct (when installing the latest one from the java website, https://www.java.com/en/download/win10.jsp, currently version 8 from the 14th of July 2020). The cytoscape installer also fails to install java. I installed java from the link provided in the troubleshooter instead, and pointed the cytoscape installer to this folder, and it solved the problem. Thank you Tim for the tip.

Hi Nicolas,
If you are installing Cytoscape 3.8, you'll need Java 11, not Java 8.  Those instructions are for Cytoscape 3.4, which is relatively ancient now...
