I am creating a network with red or blue coloured edges and black coloured edge labels. These labels are hard to read though in this colour combination.
This problem would be solved if I could set the background colour of an edge label (preferably to white).
This property is not available in the control panel - style pane.
Is there any other way to set this property? I was thinking about exporting the style, change the XML file and importing it again.
The workaround I have now is to have a dark-grey network background colour and the edge label colour white (and bold font face). I would prefer to keep the network background white though.
Any suggestions how to solve this?

Hi Josephine,
There isn't a visual property for edge label background color. So, the only way to do this is by changing the background color or manually adding your own text and shape annotations. I've filed a feature request for this visual property, but I don't know if it is possible with the current rendering engine.
