Dear Project Admin,

I hope this message finds you well! My name is Rupesh Varshney, and I am a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Technology degree at Aligarh Muslim University in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. I have started contributing to open source and am enthusiastic about contributing to NRNB.

I have been exploring the documentation and gaining familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SCSS. I am thrilled about the opportunity to contribute. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to get started—whether that’s beginner-friendly issues, ongoing discussions, or any other way to get involved.

I have already set up the development environment and am ready to start working on tasks that are relevant to the project's goals. I would be interested in knowing about any specific tools, procedures, or actions you suggest for beginners.

Thank you so much for your time and encouragement. I am looking forward to learning from this incredible community and making meaningful contributions!

Best regards,
Rupesh Varshney

Hi Rupesh,

Thank you for your interest in Cytoscape and NRNB. Google has not yet announced GSoC 2025, but assuming that they do, the NRNB will be applying as a mentoring organization. Take a look at proposed projects for NRNB here: https://github.com/nrnb/GoogleSummerOfCode/issues. Please note that these projects will likely be updated and new projects added for GSoC 2025.

As far as Cytoscape development, there are introductory resources available here: https://cytoscape.org/documentation_developers.html

Regards,

Kristina
