I just downloaded and installed Cytoscape 2.6

I do not get 'import annotation from Biomart' in the 'file menu'
I cannot install the plugin from the plugin manager (says that these have been installed by the webservice client pack 1.1 !!?

when I manually add the biomart client and biomartUI in my plugin folder I do get the menu items but i am not sure the functionality is 100%

Is this the right method to add webservices to Cyto 2.6 ?

Should I proceed the same way for other plugins which refuse to install from the manager or is there a better method ?
In the manager quite a number of plugins are told to be available fo rinstall but several refuse to install saying they are already part of some installed package (I did not install them though)

Thanks for your help
this is not all clear to me why the manager cannot manage ?

Hi.
All plugins installed through Plugin Manager is in .cytoscape folder
in your home directory. If you want to start from scratch, you can
remove the directory and install them again. My guess is there are
some conflict between old plugins for 2.5.x series and ones for 2.6.0.

By the way, since Biomart is not for network import, the menu appear
under File-->Import, not in the File-->Import-->Import Network from
Web Service.

Thanks.
Kei

You are right (which is obviously normal),
I forgot about the invisible .cytoscape folder in my home, it indeed
contains folders for 2.5 and 2.6. I will remove it and re-install 2.6
to make sure I do not duplicate things.

those bloody OSX .invisible folders !!!

thanks very much Kei for your sustained support
