Hi Martin,

I have adapted my MultiColoredNodes Plugin to meet your needs.
Please select the last option (flexible slice width coloring; available in plugin version >= 2.5) in the menu after starting the plugin.
Then, select the node attributes you wish to be represented on your nodes.
What the plugin then does is to put a pie chart on each node.
The degree of each slice represents to relative amount of the represented attribute value compared to the sum of all attributes you have chosen.

I've thoroughly searched the internet and found several tools related to this issue, but none really solve my problem. I hope anyone out there can help me out.

For each node in my network, I have 5 different attributes representing abundance data of that particular node (i.e. biological unit) in 5 different environmental settings. I would like to superimpose pie charts onto the nodes with each wegde representing an attribute and the wedge size the relative abundance (i.e. as percentage of the whole pie). The 5 wedges should have 5 colors and the whole pie should adjust to the different sizes of the nodes.

Among others, I tried the plugins MultiColoredNodes, GoogleChartFunctions and nodeCharts. Whereas the first one didn't do what I am looking for, I could get the other two tools running. I have the feeling that my problem should be solvable, but I just can't figure out how.

Any help would be greatly appreciate.

the plugin now also allows to re-define the colors in the flexible slice width mode. Please download MultiColoredNodes Plugin, version >= 2.510 from SourceForge:

To get what you want using MultiColoredNodes you need to do the following things:

- make sure to have the most recent version installed (you will always find the latest version here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/multicolor/
- import the node attributes data as FLOATING TYPE data (not integer)
- start MulticoloredNodes plugin and use <flexible slice width coloring>
- select the 4 attributes representing GA, NY, CH and CA
- redefine color setting if needed

Does it work as expected?

I recently heard about this package so I am not quite familiar with the every option available in there. I am trying to make a genetic network where each node represents a haplotype and size of the node is proportional to the number of that particular haplotype found in the population. The haplotypes could be from any of the four places (GA, NY, CH, CA) and I want to represent them with different colors in the pie (node). The slice of the pie should be proportional to the number of coming from each place.

I have been successful in making a network except that the pies are not proportional the actual size. All nodes are of equal size. I do not know the file format of giving size to the pie. Please help.
