I am trying to import a .txt file of predicted protein-protein interactions that was analyzed using the STRING Database. Being a newbie at this, I thought that I would have to download the StringApp in order to put my .txt file into cytoscape and interpret the results. (However, having trouble even downloading the App due to my computer having the 3.7.1 version and cytoscape and on the app store, it is saying that the StringApp works with cytoscape 3.6)
Is there anyway for me to get around these issues? Also, is it possible to import using a .txt. file. I have issues knowing which node to chose as the source node and the target node as well. Complete newbie at the whole cytoscape thing, all help is super appreciated!

Welcome!

First, the stringApp definitely works with 3.7.1. The app requires a *minimum* of 3.6 for all of its features to work, but can work with any future 3.x.x version.

Now, to use the stringApp, you can simply perform your query in Cytoscape. You don't have to perform it at STRING website and them save/import a txt file. The point of the app is to avoid those tedious steps :)

Here are tutorials on how to use the app:
