Hi!

I have been trying to run cytoscape 3.7 for 2 weeks with no success :

I can launch the soft, and even load a network (from toppcluster). But after 2 minuts or so it crashes (something like "cytoscape.exe stopped working, windows collects intels about it").

If I just launch cytoscape (3.7.1) and just let it be , it crashes all the same after the same duration.

It really looks like some lately loaded plug in or functionnality induces a critical error when it loads or runs.

I try reinstallation after JAVA 64 bits installation (on behalf of the troubleshooting page batch file)
but it did not do any good to cytoscape (although it forced me to install java 64 bits which is really not straightforward )

I now have installed cytoscape 2.8 and 3.7.1 alongside and only the 2.8 works...

Does any body had any similar issue ?

In advance, a big thank you for any help you might provide :)

Cheers !
Taz

Hello,

It would be helpful to get some additional information about the error. There are two useful pieces of information we could use to solve this:

1) Any console output from running Cytoscape. To get this, run cytoscape.bat from the Windows command line. (See https://www.computerhope.com/issues/chusedos.htm if you are unfamiliar with this) and save any output from the console.
2) The framework-cytoscape.log file (normally, it will be located in your user directory, like so: C:\Users\UserName\CytoscapeConfiguration\3)

Attach those two items to your response, and we might be able to get a better idea of when and why Cytoscape is failing.
