Issue with group attribute aggregation

HI,
I am creating groups through commands on a large network in Cytoscape. I have checked and Edit -> preferences -> group preferences has attribute aggregation enabled (I have tried turning it on and off, recreating groups after each, and then collapsing the groups) but I can’t get group aggregation to work. Is there somewhere else that I can set aggregation on? Is there a command that will do it so I don’t have to do it through the interface?
(I am using Cytoscape 3.10.3)

Hi Ruth,

Just to clarify, group aggregation works if you collapse and expand using the GUI, but not using commands?  If that's the case, it's definitely a bug and we'll have to check into it, and no, I don't know of any workaround via commands.

I can’t get the attribute aggregation to work when I do it manually or when I create groups and collapse them from commands.

Can you send me the network?  I just tested on 3.10.3 and attribute aggregation is definitely working for me after I do the collapse.

Hi Scooter, 

When putting together an example I discovered that when I close the session and reopen it on reopen the aggregation works so the session I send will always work.  (I would rather not save and reopen).  Is there some trigger that is being called on save that might be fixing it?

Hi Scoote, 

I added a session save and reopen .  On reopen, I expand all groups and collapse them all and now it is working.  A little hacky but it works :)

Hi Ruth,

I tried to reproduce the issue and I wasn't able to.  I was using the Yeast Perturbation network, selected a bunch of nodes and then using commands created a group and collapsed it.  Aggregation worked right away.  I wonder if there's something about your session that's tickling a bug.
