Hi,

It seems that the link to download cytoscape for mac is broken:

https://chianti.ucsd.edu/cytoscape-3.6.1/Cytoscape_3_6_1_macos.dmg

gives "page not found".

I have seen a previous post reporting that it may be due to tracking software. I have disabled duckduckgo, adblocks, etc but no luck.

Has this been addressed in any way since the previous report? Can I get any help in downloading the software?

Thanks,

M;

Hi M,

I can download the Mac installer from the Cytoscape homepage http://cytoscape.org/
Where did you get that chianti link?

Hope this helps,
Brett

Hi Brett,
That link appears in the same place you posted:
In http://cytoscape.org/ I click on the big download (Download 3.6.1) button, which brings me to a page (http://cytoscape.org/download.php) with a big "For Mac OS X", when I click that link I get to the mentioned (not found) page (https://chianti.ucsd.edu/cytoscape-3.6.1/Cytoscape_3_6_1_macos.dmg).

Cheers,
M;

It appears that the download link is using HTTPS for some reason. You should be able to access the installer at http://chianti.ucsd.edu/cytoscape-3.6.1/Cytoscape_3_6_1_macos.dmg
We'll fix this for the future. Thanks.

Thanks Brett, but that does not help since http://chianti.ucsd.edu/cytoscape-3.6.1/Cytoscape_3_6_1_macos.dmg is redirecting to https.

Hello Miguel,

I'm testing on another system, and I get no redirect to https. Is it
possible that you have software installed that is generating that
redirect? For example, https-everywhere?

Thanks David,

Yes indeed, it seems that duckduckgo is redirecting to https in chrome. The link was not working on any other browser (or incognito session) because I was taking the already converted (to https) link. But trying the http one seems to work (with duckduckgo disabled).

Thanks!

M;
