installer is damaged for mac

Hi there,

I just got my new MacBook Pro, OS X 10.8 (12A269) and tried to install cityscape 2.8.3. HOwever, when I use safari to download the installer, when I run it, it always said the installer is damaged

“Cytoscape Installer” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image.

Please help.

Hello,

That's happening because of GateKeeper's security restrictions.  To work around this, open up System Preferences.  Then choose Security & Privacy > General.  Under "Allow applications downloaded from:", select "Anywhere".

Now you should be able to install Cytoscape.  After installation, you'd probably want to change that setting back to what it used to be.
