Hi,
I hope someone can help. I am trying to use Cytoscape on a Windows Vista 32 bit computer and I seem to be able to perform all layouts except for force directed layout. When  nodes are selected and I try to run that layout, it acts like it is going to run, but crashes. I have doubts that it is a memory issue, since it is not an unreasonably-sized network (2566 nodes and 3881 edges).
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Matt

When you say "crash" -- does it give a traceback?  If so, it would be helpful if you could post the traceback.

Thanks!

There are no error messages given when it happens, not even when the
window is open. Really it is not Cytoscape that crashes, but the
layout calculation that does. I am probably not sophisticated enough
to look behind the scenes to see what is happening....

Hi Matthew,
If you can send me a session, I'll take a look and try to figure
out what's happening.

Hi Scooter,
I don't know if that would help, since the force directed layout
process works on other computers - it is just my machine that does not
do it.
I am not sure how to send the session - I only have the.cys files (and
don't know how to attach here on the helpdesk forum).
Thanks for the help,
Matt

Hi Matt,
Just send the .cys file directly to me.
