Hi!

If I export my network to PDF I always get a file with a portrait orientation.
But my network has dimensions for a landscape oriented file.

Is there a possibility to export my network and get a landscape oriented PDF file?

Thanks!

Hello!

Instead of exporting, why don’t you try to print using an PDF printer? I use pdfcreator (http://www.pdfcreator.com/). In “properties” you can choose  portrait or landscape. Also if the picture was not the way you want, you can rotate it using PDF-X (http://download.cnet.com/PDF-XChange-Viewer/3000-10743_4-10598377.html).

Hope it helped

Hi Nikolas,

thanks for your advice, I tried it, it works just fine, but the quality is not very good :(
Exporting a PDF keeps the quality high by saving labels as text, so I can read every node label.
PDF I got with PDFCreator has lower quality and the labels are blurry :(

My network is a big one (over 2500 Nodes) and I am looking for a possibility to fit it on a A4 sheet.

Anna.

Hey Anna,

Whrn printing, if you go to the PDF creator “properties”, “paper and quality”, “advanced options” you should be able to enhance the dpi resolution. Mine is fixed at 600 dpi. If yours is still bad using 600, try doubling it.

Hope it helps!

Hi Anna,
Cytoscape does not provide control over the PDF pagesize, I'm afraid. You can however resolve this by taking the portrait PDF and editing it with any of the many programs that edit PDF files (e.g. Illustrator). I've done this a lot and it works quite well.
