Hello,

I am trying to use BinGO with custom annotation file. I followed the instructions at http://www.psb.ugent.be/cbd/papers/BiNGO/Customize.html and produced a file (gene_association.salaris) like this:

(species=Gyrodactylus salaris) (type=GO_Full) (curator=GO)
cds.c10000_g1_i1|m.31448 = GO:0004674
cds.c10000_g1_i1|m.31448 = GO:0005524
cds.c10002_g1_i1|m.31451 = GO:0005506
cds.c10002_g1_i1|m.31451 = GO:0009055
cds.c10002_g1_i1|m.31451 = GO:0020037

, where the first column is my "gene names".

I understood that gene names should not necessarily be IDs from established databases, however, BinGo does not respond. I would be grateful if somebody could point out what I am doing wrong.

I work with non-model organism, so can't download the annotation file from Gene Ontology website directly.

Thanks in advance!
Ksenia

Hi Ksenia,
Since this concerns the specifics of the BinGO plugin you'd best contact the folks over there: http://www.psb.ugent.be/cbd/papers/BiNGO/Team.html
Cheers,
Piet
