Hi,

I'm trying to export networks in Cytoscape as Scalar Vector Graphics
(.svg) files. When I make a test network and save it as svg, Gimp on
Linux opens it fine, but Adobe Illustrator on Mac OS X ignores it. Are
there known issues with svg exporting? I coudln't find anything in
your bug tracker.

Any advice is appreciated,
Jay

Jesse,

unless you really need SVG, I would say that PS or PDF is a better
bet. I have done a fair amount of testing with SVG between variuos
Illustrator/Photoshop/GIMP/Inkscape versions and found that Inkscape
produces the "best" SVG ( since it can be read by Illustrator... ) and
Illustrator produced SVG seems to have issues.

PS and PDF seem to work well pretty much everywhere since they are
more standard, and give you just as much Vectorized graphics as SVG
does.

I think that the Cytoscape SVG export is proabably OK, but that
Illustrator is probably the one at fault.
