Dear All,

Cytoscape provides the first neighbours (r1) of any node easily by direct right click-select-first neighbors. My question is whether anyone knows if it can go further by also listing second, third (r2, r3) etc.. neighbours?

cheers,
Marko

Sure, just do Select->Nodes->First Neighbors of Selected Nodes.  You can continue to do that to get r2, r3, r4, ...

Many thanks Scooter for your prompt answer!

I can then substract, say r3-(r2+r1) to get only r3 nodes. However, still one obstacle stands in the way  and I would be endlessly grateful for help, whenever I try to export the table with selected nodes,  (export-table) - I always get ALL the nodes from the network, not only the SELECTED ones that are labeled in yellow and shown in the table panel below the network image? What am I doing wrong to export only the selected nodes within the network, listed in the TABLE PANEL?

cheers
marko

You can do a File->New->Network->From Selected Nodes all edges to create a new network with only the selected nodes.  Then you can export that.
