Hi!

This may not related to Cytoscape development directly, but maybe more
people have the same problem I had.

I have many network files stored in Pajek format and I would like to
use them with Cytoscape. So I created a tool to convert this files.
The tool is able to convert .net files into .sif or .gml (to keep node
position). It can also convert Pajek .clu files to Cytoscape node
attributes.

The tool is available at: http://pynetconv.sourceforge.net/

By now it is only a library, so one needs to create some python code
to use it. I am working on a GUI to make the conversion easier for the
end user.

Hope that helps someone else.

Hi Marcio,
I think your tool will be very useful for some people. I used to
use Pajek all the time. We'll link to your URL from the Cytoscape
'Links' page on our next update.

Thanks,
Gary

Thanks!

Another thing I made for Cytoscape is a plugin to add some information
about Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the context menu. It was based on your
code for the yeast menu, but I just add the "P. aeruginosa" item to
the menu, the other items of the menu are still generated by your
plugin. The page (with a screenshot) is at:

http://pynetconv.sourceforge.net/pae-context.html

The problem with it is that it is not working with v2.1 of Cytoscape,
only v2.0. I'm planning to fix this, but first I want to finish the
GUI for pyNetConv. If you think this plugin can be also useful you can
add it the plugins page.
