node in a shape (rectangle)

Hey,

is it possible to fill the nodes in some shape like a rectangle? because each example i have seen the "letters" are outside the node figure.

Hi Karl,

There isn't a quick fix for this...  You could include a new column in your data table that has a character count value for the labels in each row (i.e., in Excel or your favorite alternative). Then in Cytoscape you could map this as a continuous variable to width and then tweak the mapping until it looks right.

But there is not a straighforward way to accurately get the width a node "should" be based on the label text because of differences in letter width per font, etc...
