Creating app from layout algorithm implemented in python

We would like to bring one of our layout algorithms, which is implemented in Python, to Cytoscape. As Cytoscape apps are written in Java, I was wondering whether some of you has an idea on how to easily bring it to Cytoscape without rewriting the Algorithm in Java.

This is great timing! We are developing a layout REST service in which algorithms are deployed in containers on the server. We have a functional prototype system that includes algorithms in multiple languages.

I'll do an email intro to Jing Chen, the Ideker Lab software architect, and Chris Churas, the primary developer for our layout service, and we can discuss this further.
