Cytoscape is participating in Google Summer of Code 2025 as part of the National Resource for Network Biology (NRNB.org).

Google Summer of Code (GSoC)  is a highly competitive and unique program - since 2005, 21,000 contributors have been accepted into the program. The program is open to all newcomers of open source that are 18 years and older.

If you are interested in working with Cytoscape as part of GSoC, check out our project ideas and reach out to mentors to learn more here: https://github.com/nrnb/GoogleSummerOfCode/issues

Who can apply?
  • You must be at least 18 years of age when you register
  • You must be eligible to work in the country you will reside in during the program
  • You must be an open source beginner or a student
  • You have not been accepted as a GSoC Contributor/Student in GSoC more than once
  • You must reside in a country that is not currently embargoed by the United States. See Program Rules for more information.
  • You must not already be affiliated with a mentor’s lab or team
