Do you think you can see (or hear) as many bird species in a 24 hour period as did
the winning team in 2011?

119 species is the target to beat

Anyone wishing to take part in this year's Bird Race should register their interest
with me by end of 1 April (no, this is not an early April-fool!). You choose where
to visit and for how long you bird watch, provided it is within the 24 hours of
Saturday 7 April.

The entry fee for taking part remains the same:-

5 euro for each BirdLife Cyprus member and
8 euro for non-members

This year we have a first-time in Cyprus birder joining in the race, who has already
been promised sponsorship money, so we are saying that any Bird Race participant can
also raise sponsorship money and ALL proceeds go to BirdLife Cyprus for conservation.
This sponsorship is NOT compulsory but if you wish to find sponsors then a
sponsorship form is availlable.

If you are interested in taking part please contact me and I can send you the bird
list, rules (which are also printed on the BirdLife Cyprus web site -
http://www.birdlifecyprus.org/ ) plus a sponsorship form if required.

Fees are to be paid to a Council member or the BirdLife Cyprus Office before 2 April
2012. Please let me know if you are taking part. I do hope that you are able to.
