Anyone else see 12 birds flying between Paphos and Coral Bay this morning (Monday), at about 10:30am.

About heron size, and quite distant, but I couldn't identify them. Couldn't make out any features such as head or legs.
Wings were 'flapping', and they also moved on still wings, held in a 'm' sort of shape.
Seemed like white upper wings with black wing tips, and all black underneath, with a white body.

Anybody else see them at all?

Ray

Hi Ray,

Did not see these particular birds but we have been observing a large movement of Cormorants flying North in the last week or so.

There have been flocks of around 250 passing, we have seen 3 flocks today ranging from 29 to 64.

Have attached a couple of pictures for your information (same birds), we always take a picture just to count how many!

Hi Dave & Jan
Sorry - just found your reply in my spam folder!
Don't think they were cormorants, but it will just have to go down as one of those unknowns.

I didn't get to the Akrotiri field trip, but looks like there were some good birds. Hopefully will be at Paphos next Saturday for more!

Regards
Ray
