The Time Has Come - Call Out for Family Support - Do You Want Hip Hop on the Playa?

If Cyphertown (one of the TWO major sound systems for our family to
play on, Nexus and Us as far as I know...), matters to you than please
read this message in full!!!
(Also, if you keep reading than you will get a sneek peak at our
lineup for the playa!)
Check our update website for new info on Cyphertown and to peep our
NEW PROMO VIDEO with footage from last years playa and many of our
productions since then:
The time has come. The Burn is just days away and the whole
Cyphertown Team is workin HARD to ensure that we have a dope stage for
you to rock out at on the Playa this year.
BUT CHECK IT:
Since we had a big shift up in our inferstructure and registration
scenario, we are short on funds! Hella people have been telling us
that they're gonna roll thru and camp with us, but very few people
have actually gone to our website and donated (SLIDING SCALE DONATION
FOLKS).
The result is that WE, the Cyphertown Team, has had to privately
fundraise ALL the funds to make this stage happen! And that IS NOT an
easy job! The stage alone costs over $7,000!!! (Sound
System/Generator/Fuel/Trucking WITHOUT staff tickets!!!)
It's a slow year for pretty much everybody financially, so our
fundraising has not been as effortless as we had hoped. As of a week
ago, we almost had to cancel Cyphertown on the Playa due to lack of
funds. Fer real. Our Kitchen did have to cancel cause not enough
people pre-registered.
So now we are a Stage and we are a Community. Holding space for the
rising generation of fresh and beautiful talent, and featuring many of
our elders and old playa favorites as well.
We almost had to cancel this thing, but you know what...?
WE ARE WARRIORS!!!
It is ESSENTIAL that especially in this year of shifting, when many
old favorites are mutating or not coming, that WE, as the RISING HIP
HOP GENERATION, represent FULLY on the playa this year and provide a
place for many of our family to throwdown!!!
It is also ESSENTIAL that we posses POWERFUL ENDURANCE and
ADAPTABILITY in the coming times of quickening!
We are holding a vision that extends far beyond the playa! To unite
the power of hip hop and the power of the burning man culture to
leverage REAL CHANGE in this world. AND WE ARE ALREADY DOING IT!!!
We now just BARELY have enough to make this stage happen. And that's
without reimbursing our full time staff AT ALL for their tickets for
busting their asses and working while most people are out having fun,
so that we ENSURE that you all have a dope place to enjoy yourselves
at night.
DO YOU WANT A PLAYA WITH ONLY BLARING TECHNO AND TRANCE?!?
We didn't think so...
DO YOU APPRECIATE ALL THE WORK THAT THE 12 PEOPLE ON CYPHERTOWN
COUNCIL ARE DOING TO ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE A DOPE PLACE TO ENJOY YOUR
PLAYA EVENINGS?

will be enjoying our stage/lineup/family, than PLEASE DONATE AS
WELL!!! Camping with Entheon, but know that you will want to come
dance at a major system at night? Building the Temple but know that
you will want a place to decompress and shake out all those loose
screws from your existance? PLEASE SUPPORT this family who is
ABSOLUTELY DEDICATED to providing you with quality musical
entertainment this year!!!
If everyone who recieves this message donates $20, than we would have
over $15,000!!!
That money would make it OH SO MUCH EASIER for us to bring you quality
programming, and would eliminate a lot of the stress that we, the
Cyphertown Council, are enduring (and the possibility of going into
personal debt!) so that WE ALL can have an awesome stage!
