The Storm hits the Bay Area this week!
"Hurricane Season: The Hidden Messages In Water"
A 2-Womyn Fully Theatrical Spoken Word Commentary on the
Parilous Politrix of Greed and it's effect on our Natural World and Humanity,
Performed by Alixa and Naima of NYC Based Spoken Word Crew, Climbing PoeTree,

"Rhythmic and uplifting, revealing and deeply moving, Hurricane Season seeks not to captivate audiences, but to liberate them. Through a tapestry of spoken word poetry, video projection, dance, shadow art, and a sound collage of personal testimonials, Hurricane Season connects to the issues that surfaced in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to the "unnatural disasters" unfolding nationwide and worldwide on a daily basis. Hurricane Season tackles global warming, environmental injustice, criminalization, militarization, corporate domination, and displacement as they manifest from one gulf to another, with a powerful tale of resistance, resilience, creativity and survival…"

A Solutions Cypher will follow every show where audience members participate in a dialog featuring local grassroots orgs, visionaries, and healers, to draw vital connections between shared struggles and common solutions in a critical moment in human history.

Climbing PoeTree has never failed to take me on a journey through laughter, tears, anger and joy with their pertinantly potent words and lyrical activism. This tour is a result of years of work, and truely a labor of love meant to polish the gem of our heart and awaken us into passionate action on behalf of the people and creatures, and indeed the being of Gaia herself...
This is one not to be missed.
