Hi Joop,

Thanks for you interest in Cypher! Please join the Cypher mailing list, as most support questions are addressed there.

Installation on Linux is quite simple.

Download the tar from online and decompress, set vars and run program

# wget http://www.monrai.com/downloads/cypher-1.9.tar.gz
# tar -zxvf cypher-1.9.tar.gz
# export CYPHER_HOME=./cypher
# cd ./cypher
# ./cypher.sh

This creates a /cypher directory, and sets the CYPHER_HOME var to the root of the unpacked directory. Finally, it runs the /cypher/cypher.sh script, which will run the program. This runs the stand alone app.

In order to get some results, you need to write a simple dataset. There are some datasets availible for purchase also. Next, place some input into a file in the /cypher/in directory, then run the program and the input in the file will be transcoded.

Please let me know if you have any problems

Joop,

Also, please have a look at /cypher/data/repository/grammar/cypher-rdf-std for example on how to write or extend the grammar.

The release yesterday did not contain this file, so if your version is missing it, it is available here in the Cypher group files.

To install, simply unpack this file into /cypher/data/repository/grammar, then add this line to /cypher/data/repository/grammar/index.xml

<load dir="cypher-rdf-std"/>

Thanks,
-sherman
